Note to self: Trick-or-Treat on the island next year. Northwoods Tom’s place sounds like FUN!
Could be an event.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
11/01/2015 at 6:35 pm #2044175Sunflower season is near the end!
Not really. We are filling up all of our bird feeders today and getting them in pace for the winter. We use only the black oil sunflower seeds.
I was referring to your “weepy avatar”.
11/01/2015 at 7:12 pm #2044177Sunflowers are always in season in the forums! Sometimes they reflect the time of year. I will be sporting my Christmas poinsettia next month, though.
11/01/2015 at 7:43 pm #2044179Not going to try and catch up. We went up to the Twin Cities yesterday for a soggy but still fun Halloween Hoopla, which was Mega this year. We aren’t huge fans of huge events, but we both agreed that this one doesn’t have that feel and is laid back and fun. Spent time with my mom, then went out and gathered up all the solved puzzles from the event that I’d solved, and had a nice visit with my dad…who is hopefully busting out of that rehab place and heading home soon.

11/02/2015 at 1:23 pm #2044189Got the second mole today. He evaded the trap yesterday, but his luck ran out about 11 this morning.
Now if only there were a trap for these lady bugs. I was out in the woods this morning cutting up some downed trees and they were even bugging me there.
11/02/2015 at 7:13 pm #2044198No Saw Whet banding or GIFF movies for us this weekend. My aunt passed away last night and the memorial is Saturday in Duluth. I’m so glad I got up there a couple weeks back to see her. The cancer took her fast, which is probably a blessing. But it’s still sad.
We were visiting my mom and dad (her brother) this weekend and they told me she had rallied a bit the other day and wanted to go for a drive around the city and up the shore. All the grandkids and most of us nephews and nieces (there was only one of those, me!) had made a visit. I think she was ready to go after that. She was at home with family.
11/02/2015 at 8:36 pm #2044199Sorry to hear about your aunt, Birdin’. Losing a family “elder” makes one realize that getting together with each other is a way to keep the family history going. Glad that all of you got to see this aunt-sister-mother-grandma recently, and make sure to share plenty of memories with each other this weekend as you remember a special woman in all of your lives.

Aaaarrrggghhh! We were working in the yard all day! And I see that Mint Chip was also the FOTD in Mauston today! But next week it will be at the other Point Culvers on Tuesday, and at Waupaca on the 9th. A visit to the summer home might be in order on Monday. (Scoopers there is closed for the season now.)
11/02/2015 at 8:50 pm #204420114 posts this page. More than the Pack scored last night. Almost more yards than they gained too!
