I had to go pick up our grand daughter, only to discover she was going with her mom. Not sure what’s up with this.
11/20/2015 at 5:56 pm #2044597Aaand….it’s Friday night!
11/20/2015 at 6:01 pm #2044598Gas in Pickett $1.99 and the county has striped the roads with salt solution. Hope we don’t get the 4″ predicted. Off to the wormhole I go. 🙂
11/20/2015 at 7:37 pm #2044599I paid $1.89 for gas today. It has not begun to craphas. We are now in the 4-8 inch area.
I am stuck at an elementary school movie night, Home Alone. My shift at the nacho bar has ended. I am bored.
11/20/2015 at 8:49 pm #2044600Found 30 today while waiting for my car to get fixed. Too many poorly maintained caches or it could’ve been more. Most exciting find wasn’t a cache. While I was at one of the DNFs today, I heard something above me. After I realized what it was, I looked up and it was a hummingbird! In November!
Also spotted a pair of meadowlarks around the corner. Wish I knew my raptors out here, I’m sure I’m spotting new ones for me but I have no idea what they are.
Never got to any of the puzzle or challenge caches I was thinking about targeting, just pure numbers while staying within 10 minutes driving time from the dealership to be ready when they were ready. The big scary thing that was wrong with the car (service high voltage charging system) was just low battery fluid. The repair guy is learning that this is common with the ’14s. So happy it wasn’t another rat chewing through the wiring!
All the time I’ve owned this car, I thought it was a system that ran on battery, and then switched over to gas engine – which could also be used to charge the battery while driving. WRONG. The real way is much better designed than that. There are two small engines that act as generators to supply the battery with electricity when the charge is gone. So, when I switch to “mountain mode” to recharge my batteries, I’m really not doing much except running more gas engine power and storing it as electricity to use when I drive around Bonanza. Probably uses more gas that way. The guys at the dealership had never heard of anyone driving a Volt without charging it, but I can’t plug it in at all here, and the charging stations in KF are far enough away that I’d use half the charge up just driving back home.

11/20/2015 at 9:53 pm #2044601Your hummingbird was likely an Anna’s or Rufous. I guess they can winter along the coast there.
I have glitter all all over everything. Why did I pay for glittered fabric if it just falls off? I am at an impasse with this doll dress. I need sequins and shiny braid.
I am SO outside my wheelhouse!
11/20/2015 at 10:59 pm #2044603The hummingbird was dark. That’s all I could tell because it was directly overhead. We had Rufus at our feeder this summer, but at the elevation we’re at nothing sticks around during the winter that needs food like these things do.

11/21/2015 at 12:26 am #2044604First to post on Saturday!
11/21/2015 at 6:25 am #2044605Where is the craphas ? East Sandland is clear and seasonably cold but without a trace of white, not on the ground, not in the air, not anywhere.
I used to get a decent weather map on my phone, I haven’t used that feature lately and when I tried it this morning I find that I now get mostly decent commercials.
11/21/2015 at 8:13 am #2044606No snow at the Sandcastle. Mr. S said he saw a few flakes overnight, but those disappeared quite quickly.

I would venture to say that the pirate has craphas.
11/21/2015 at 8:42 am #2044610It’s just as I suspected, after checking those links, someone else got my craphas.
11/21/2015 at 8:48 am #2044611We have a dusting. Maybe an inch. If that.
11/21/2015 at 8:54 am #2044612It looks like maybe an inch or so of craphas in Milwaukee.
11/21/2015 at 8:55 am #2044613It’s been a long time…
