Time to air out the house MGT?
01/09/2016 at 3:27 pm #2045928Today, Linda qualified for the “55 and over” menu items at Perkins.
Ah, milestones…
01/09/2016 at 5:42 pm #2045929SPOILER ALERT!!!
Trekkin’ = gallery 3, right side somewhat, 7-8 rows from the bottom, green grass background, by a campfireI saw lots of banjoes in my search!

Correct, but…..can you find him within the actual Banjo Love Mosaic?????
01/09/2016 at 5:45 pm #2045930We had a fun day at the Kickapoo Reserve. Nice long hike, though the recent weather did a number on ice formations. We’ll go back after all these cold days form some new ice. Lots of fun stuff going on for WinterFest and we enjoyed some of the other activities, too. And just as we were leaving, wouldn’t you know it? One of my birding friends called, having found Common Redpolls literally less than legal cache spacing distance from our house!
01/09/2016 at 5:49 pm #2045931Oh, and it appears that now MY Garmin has died. We bring them along on these hikes so we can mark cool things. It wouldn’t shut off. Then….it never turned on again. I could check the batteries, but they were a full charge before it crashed.

Oh, yes. Several times. Once I knew what I was looking for, Trekkin’s image was easy to spot. In fact, he comes up right near the top just slightly above and to the left of the lighter-colored “B” for BANJO in the mosaic. He’s also to the left of the lower part of the “L” for LOVE… and in many other parts of the mosaic. 😀
Still would have been a lot easier if he had been the green alien. 😉

The redpolls can be found within the margin of error from our house… like five feet away at one feeder.
01/09/2016 at 6:48 pm #2045940I’m hoping these Redpolls will show up at our feeders tomorrow. It was getting toward dark when Doug called and they’ll go roost somewhere then. He was cruising my neighborhood in search of the Eurasian Collared Doves hanging around here. I told him to feel free to go in our backyard where we usually see them.
Actually, between us and the county home, the best roosting spots nearby would be there…the two evergreen stands nearby.

01/10/2016 at 7:51 am #2045950When I first looked at my thermometer this morning I had no degrees, none, zilch, zero. Now I have even fewer.
01/10/2016 at 9:47 am #2045951It is official…..no snowbiking today!
01/10/2016 at 10:41 am #2045953Is everyone’s computer frozen this morning? 😉 One of the things we discovered yesterday is a new hiking challenge at the Kickapoo Reserve. Since we’ve diminished interest in driving all over to find stop signs, we think we’ll take part in this. Close to home, wonderful country, we can discover some new parts of the Reserve maybe, and get good exercise. The challenge is to hike all 60 miles of trails in the Reserve in 2016.
01/10/2016 at 12:05 pm #2045956The trail hiking seems like a fun challenge, but I want to know if the Redpolls came to eat off your feeder.
I did all my chores, so now I can sit on the couch and watch the football.

Glad we’re watching the football on the television instead of at the stadium!

3, then 1, then -3, then -1… Now we are finally back above zero.
