And now a trip down memory lane… It was seven years ago today (1/17/2009) that we attended our first social event and met many Wisconsin geocachers for the first time, including some familiar names from the drivel over the years. This would be the first Lonely Cache Game event, which was held in Appleton and hosted by seldom|seen.
Last but not least, while we were at the same event, we did not get meet JimandLinda, and Mister Greenthumb and Sunshine. They were not big drivelers at the time, if at all, so they were more of an unknown to us, and with all those in attendance, we did not get to talk with them, an oversight that has thankfully since been remedied.
I remember that event well. It was our first time caching in Appleton. It was very confusing. Every time we turned a corner and looked to see how close we were now to the cache we were after we ended up being closer to a different cache. Maybe we should have been walking.

01/18/2016 at 1:27 am #2046198Ah yes, the LCG Event at The 10th Frame in Appleton. My son and I bowled there that day next to gotta run and his family. Those were the days!
01/18/2016 at 7:25 am #2046201-15 here in East Sandland. Looks like it’s bottomed out and starting to inch up.
01/18/2016 at 7:56 am #2046202-6 here in Wauwatosa. I think I’ll stay in most of the day. I was going to go to the dump today to discard our old family room carpet; the new one turned out pretty nice. I guess that can wait. But it’s Kim’s birthday today so we’re going out tonight for dinner with family.
01/18/2016 at 8:51 am #2046203HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MRS. HACK!
More “on this day in history”: Eight years ago today I joined the WGA. I did not make a post for a week or two, but when I did, it was in the drivel and it was about mint chip. Some things never change, even after eight years. 😉
01/18/2016 at 9:19 am #2046205My damn humidifier keeps shutting itself off. It doesn’t seem to appreciate that the dump is only 2 mi. away and open Wednesday.
01/18/2016 at 10:08 am #2046206I’m not looking at the temps. I am going out later for yoga. Happy Birthday to Mrs. Hack. Mrs. SL needs to broaden her horizons to something besides mint chip. Jar’s humidifier is going to be sorry!
01/18/2016 at 10:16 am #2046207Chocolate marshmallow is good. As a FOTD, I also go for Bonfire S’mores, Double Marshmallow Oreo, and Andes Mint Avalanche. I would really like Rocky Road if it didn’t have the rocks (nuts) in it, but then it would just be chocolate marshmallow… which takes us back to the beginning of this post.

Andes Mint is today’s FOTD here in Rapids. Thursday’s FOTD is Bonfire Smores.
01/18/2016 at 12:39 pm #2046213Well, then, Thursday it is! 😀

Part of it is because, well, it’s where we make stuff, but a lot of it has to do with the rotating door nature of our house. Now that the offspring are both homeowners, hopefully we no longer have a need for a dumping room. I cleared off the worktable and the area around it. Even took photos before and after, but for some reason, my photoshop program is “stuck.” So you’ll just have to take my word for it! 😉

01/18/2016 at 2:41 pm #2046220My room is upstairs so maybe it’s my treehouse.
