Let’s not forget:
It’s squirrel appreciation day!
01/21/2016 at 5:32 pm #2046338Kind of quiet. Hope T&B didn’t fall through the ice.

01/21/2016 at 6:58 pm #2046346Nope, ice was good! Thanks for the insight, that worked great…although we found a smartphone and wallet near that cache, so that required a side trip to bring it to the cop shop. You never know what you’ll find! We just got home a little bit ago.
01/21/2016 at 7:39 pm #2046347Gee, BC… No one seemed too worried when the two of us weren’t doing any posting for those three hours this afternoon that we were chatting at the blue-roof place. π
01/21/2016 at 8:11 pm #2046348Well, you two weren’t silly enough to walk across a frozen lake, so everyone figured you’d be okay! I don’t feel like logging. I just logged the two we decided to do around here yesterday. We did have two really nice hikes on parts of the IAT over by Wausau, too. One DNF. It was on the puzzle I solved. We think we might have found it, but it was firmly in place and we didn’t want to bang it around. So…blue face for us there.

01/22/2016 at 7:13 am #2046367No wonder our ears were ringing! π
01/22/2016 at 9:03 am #2046368We worked 4 days this week and now are off again until we go back March 7th. Then it’s only until May 27th and we are done for good. Am I counting the days?
01/22/2016 at 9:59 am #2046370Since we will be able to caching anytime we want after we retire we’re taking a break from caching this winter and doing other things we enjoy. We’ve been doing a lot of hiking, movies, lunch dates and other fun things. This weekend we’re going to see some ice and snow sculptures. Occasionally we sneak a cache or two in. Last year we found 288 in January. Last month (December) we found over 200. So far this month our count is 13.
01/22/2016 at 10:12 am #2046371Then you’re doing pretty well. My count for this year is 2.

01/22/2016 at 10:34 am #2046372We’ve actually enjoyed the less is more approach as well. When we do get out, we’re fairly selective now. There were a couple p/gs on the way to one of the ECs we stopped to check, but snow was an issue. The placer had them where they were so the finders could see cool things there, and we got to see them, so it’s good.
We’re excited about the Kickapoo Hiking Challenge. We’re hoping to hike the over 60 miles of trails there over this year. We get a patch or something and a chance for a free membership. *eye roll* Closer to home, and it is the aspect of caching we enjoy, anyway. Of course, there’s the trip to Yellowstone and Devils Tower, and in March we’re joining a bus trip to Cahokia Mounds and Ste. Genevieve MO. Tomorrow we have concert tickets and maybe we’ll go to the chili cook off, too! So much to do and you don’t have to drive 2 or more hours to do it all the time! Unless it’s a bird. There are two road trips I keep debating to see a couple cool ones!
01/22/2016 at 10:40 am #2046373Then youβre doing pretty well. My count for this year is 2.
Five… from two separate outings. Nothing unfound very close to us anymore. Not a big fan of winter caching.
01/22/2016 at 10:49 am #2046374Question on an English assignment: Does the meaning of the prefix “re” help determine the meaning of the word “real”?
Answers: No, because without re, al doesn’t mean anything.
No, because re means to do again, and you can’t al again.
