I imagine there are groundhogs southwest of Wisconsin that won’t be coming out today. But a happy birthday to a local former FTP-hog that I haven’t seen here in a while. She’ll probably be out caching today :)

I am alive. And probably no caching today – although I am now in possession of a new Oregon 650 which I am just dying to put to use.

Thanks Susan. It’s going to be a craphas day….it has finally reached the valley which hopefully means that school was not canceled in vain! Or would that be vane? Or vein? Things to think about on Groundhog’s day!

        Happy Birthday!

The deck rails now have snow about four inches high on them.  The winds are beginning to kick up, too.

          HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LN!

The snow started sometime after 10:00 here, and it’s been coming down steadily. No need to go out, but I might hop in the car and venture on to the city streets to get the mail at the PO and to pick up a few non-necessities at the store. If you don’t see me back on here in an appropriate amount of time, someone give Mr. S a call to form a search party. Actually, none of my travels will take me more than half a mile from the Sandcastle, and I will have on boots, so I can walk home if I get stuck.

My favorite tongue twister for today:

“How much ground could a groundhog grind if a groundhog could grind ground?”

Coming down in Neenah like a Sum’gun. Lunchtime I went for a 1 mile walk to see my bride and by the time I got back to work, not only could I not see my previous footsteps but flakes the size of quarters were coming down. Being the great guy I am I shoveled the walk at work and when I turned to go back, the walk was covered.

          I’m lovin’ it.

I’m back. The side streets haven’t been plowed yet, but Highway 13 has been. Bank hasn’t been recently plowed, PO hasn’t been plowed, grocery store was getting plowed again as I left. Six inches at least here. Wet stuff. I just shoveled from the deck to the garage and then wandered all around to clear under the bird feeders and top them off. People were out and about, though.

          HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARIE!

I’m shoveling in increments so Hitman can get in the driveway later. 3 inches so far, could’ve turned around and shoveled another half inch when I finished the first three.  I should go snowshoeing!

              HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LN!

LN has been traveling a lot – hence the quietness – plus life has kind of been turned upside down for us. Looks like we will be relocating soon. Stay tuned.

Granddaughter #2 was due yesterday and has yet to arrive. I am holding out that she will share a birthday with me.
