Anyone want to take bets here? My Canon EOS 60D, which is less than two years old, has been progressively giving me fits, now to the point where I’m lucky if I get one photo before the “Error 01” message appears and renders it useless. I’ve done all the suggested fixes, and have now written to Canon to see if they’ll stand behind it. It started this nonsense very occasionally shortly after I got it. Now it basically won’t work.
This was not a cheap camera, and I’ve used Canon for a good thirty years quite happily. I sure hope they make this one right and don’t want me to pay the cost of another camera to fix it. (I had to do that after awhile with my previous Canon D). Who wants to place odds they’ll do right?
04/19/2016 at 3:24 pm #2048889It was too hot in Springfield IL yesterday. No, MGT, e didnât get to the Cozy but we did go to the tomb.
Did you rub Lincoln’s nose?

Hoping for the best. Our 80″ display TV at work is 1 yr past the warranty date and died. Vizio is sending a refurbished one at no cost and a delivery crew to replace it so good things do happen.

04/19/2016 at 5:09 pm #2048891I’m still waiting to hear something back. I got a spam “frequent bounce” one, but since I have no clue when I mail from the website what the actual recipient email is, I’m not sure if it went through or not. If I hear nothing, I’ll just bite the bullet and call the 800 number. Glad you’re having luck, though it sucks these things don’t last.

From August of 2007:

Somewhere I have a photo of some classmates with Abe from our senior class trip to Springfield…. way back when…. during the latter half of the last century.
04/19/2016 at 9:08 pm #2048895Saw my first 2 bluebirds in the Oakfield Ledge SNA today.
And my cache container didn’t melt from last weeks controlled burn!04/19/2016 at 10:22 pm #2048898We’ve had hummingbirds at our feeder for about a week, but not sure exactly what they are. Thinking maybe Calliope because they are the smallest I’ve ever seen and not flashy at all.
Bluebirds have been back for over a month, same with the swallows.
It was 80 today, and I got paid to watch a baseball game at school.

04/19/2016 at 10:26 pm #2048899On a different note, we have our TB university at the end of our driveway. I’ve managed to get down to talk to all the visitors so far, and last night noticed that someone had logged it, and 59 other caches of mine, the same dates as some of the Medford guys (one hour west of here over the Cascades). I had talked to the two Medford cachers that have been making regular visits, so I know there was only two people physically there on those days to sign the log – which they always sign as “TEAM BADD” to save log space.
The mystery logger was not one of the two guys I talked to. I asked one through email about this new set of logs and his reply is:
“We had a few issues with some of your caches today.
our team is TEAM BAADD. that’s Bob, (okdf), Alex,(Socks4), Amanda, Daveydude and Duanne. The rules dictate that if you sign the log as a team, you may all claim a find.”
Reactions, or have we already beat this dead horse to death? The local KF cachers are of the same mind I think we are: we wouldn’t do it, but a person really makes their own rules.

I’ve always thought the rule was, Only the team members present logged the find. Another rule I use is, As cache owner, I delete logs as I see fit – without consultation.
04/20/2016 at 7:20 am #2048905If each cacher is paying for a membership with Groundspeak, I don’t have a problem with it. But if there’s 1 member with 3 on their shirttails, do whatever you want.
04/20/2016 at 3:45 pm #2048912I don’t think that there is a “rule” about it, but IMHO you should only log the find if you are with the team when the cache is found.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
04/20/2016 at 6:12 pm #2048914I know of groups of six or more that take 2 vehicles and each group does half of the power trail or groups of caches. You can tell when you see the times they list in their logs is half of that of teams and groups that actually visit each cache. Some people are just so obsessed with the numbers. They’re going to be surprised when the find out there is no prize for the most found. The prize is only for those who take the time and enjoy the find and the scenery.
04/20/2016 at 6:25 pm #2048915Is this a real possibility?
