However, you may end up paying for some of your posts!
Up to three posts in a row are free. Any after that cost a buck each. You need to take out a loan, Becky! 😆
04/28/2016 at 3:14 pm #2049143So….when I’m “home” in Minneapolis, we usually skip the urban hides in favor of the park preserves or stuff beyond the big city. But I solved a puzzle or two that were staring at me from the little lake across the street and decided….it’s cold, windy and drizzly, perfect day to find stuff like that, let’s see what other p/g stuff I can try to find in the old ‘hood this morning.
I learned that….the Grain Belt Brewery is now one of the Minneapolis Public Libraries. The apartment near the U of M where two of my friends lived and I spent untold hours is still standing as is…in spite of all the yuppie stuff that’s gone in around there. There’s now a community garden near the cruddy empty lot where we used to put pennies on the tracks and wait for the trains to go by.
Later I’m taking Mom out to eat. I told her she has to sit in the car and ride shotgun while I drive around Rosedale to find some skirtlifters. There’s this challenge, you see…..GC54WYC I’m really surprised we weren’t closer than we are. When I ran the checker, we had 330 out of 360 degrees. We should be down by four or five before I head home tomorrow. [;)]
04/28/2016 at 4:25 pm #2049144Since we have a total of seven finds in MN, I didn’t expect to be close, but I ran that checker… We have seven of the degrees covered already. 🙄 I think we’d do a bit better on a Wisconsin challenge of that nature, but it’s not one that I would think of doing.
BTW, Birdin’… I hear that there is no statute of limitations on prosecuting people for putting pennies on railroad tracks… 😈
04/28/2016 at 6:36 pm #2049150I have 54 caches in MN, but only cover 30 degrees.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
04/28/2016 at 7:11 pm #2049151Usually I’m not so into challenges of that type, but that checker does something cool. If you click on one of the zones you lack, it brings up the qualifying caches on the map, and you can click on them from there to see if you want to bother or not. Mom and I just got in from our nice dinner at Good Earth, then we drove around the edges of Rosedale. I was disappointed that not a one of the four were skirtlifters. In trees, on the fence. I wanted Mom to see the glory that is “skirtlifter.” *eye roll* And to demonstrate how tight that degree is so close to the center point….of the four I found, only one helps the missing degree. The actual center point is probably a mile or two southeast of Rosedale.

04/28/2016 at 9:02 pm #2049157We have 4069 finds in Minnesota, including completing their Delorme and county challenges. You’d think that would be enough to have all 360 degrees, especially since visiting family in Minneapolis should net us lots of caches close in to the center. Project gc hasn’t updated, but after today’s finds, we should now sit with 334 of 360. Maybe I can pick up one or two more on my way home tomorrow.
Aren’t statistics fun?

Tulip chomping terrorist-on-toast. sounds delicious.
04/29/2016 at 9:24 am #2049171The terrorist has an ally. Would you like some venison with your hasenpfeffer, jar42? And I would offer you salad with that except ten more tulip blossoms are gone, along with some hosta leaves and phlox. Of course, you would have to eat everything fresh, since our refrigerator decided to quit working overnight.
04/29/2016 at 9:31 am #2049172I have 12 degrees …. long way to go. Skipping that challenge for now! 🙂
04/29/2016 at 9:59 am #2049173It appears to be a fan malfunction in the refrigerator, but they can’t come till 1:00. A second look at the yard revealed chomped lilies, too. Mr. S is going for some Liquid Fence right now. We need a dome.
04/29/2016 at 10:24 am #2049174Oh, I hope the fridge issue can be dealt with quickly. The yard terrorism is probably an ongoing battle, though.
I should have four less degrees showing, but when project gc updated, it credited the one degree I found last night, but not the three I got and logged earlier in the day. Weird. Might just get one more on the way home today. It’s all silly, but it’s fun to have one of these that requires us to do a bit of searching before we qualify.
04/29/2016 at 11:01 am #2049175No hiking on the IAT for us today, but tomorrow looks good to knock off a few more miles. It’s not like we don’t have things we can do around here while waiting for the repair person…
04/29/2016 at 11:02 am #2049176Might even have time to get another FTP …
