Congrats J&L!!!
06/24/2016 at 8:20 am #2050466Congratulations on the new grandson! They are the best.
Ten years ago today, we found our first geocache. I doubt we’ll be finding any today to mark the occasion. Poohs Pal has been staying with us since Tuesday, and there’s nothing nearby that interests us in the way of caches. He wants to go hiking, so we might head to Perrot and look for frogs later today.

06/24/2016 at 10:27 am #2050469Grandchild number 6 arrived this morning! The twins now have a big, little brother, Charles David, weighing in at 9# 10 oz. He was a high risk baby but so far, so good. Lots of smiles today!
I was waiting to hear this news, J&L.. Glad to know that things went well with the birth, and may there be continued good news as big-little Charles gets… “older”. 😉
Keep us updated, Grandpa! And share photos!
06/24/2016 at 12:46 pm #2050470Congrats on the grandchild, J&L. I’ve been absent from the drivel forum this week. On Sunday I found some old bottle rockets that one of my kids left in the garage. They’ve probably been there for 8 years or so. I took a few of them out in the back yard to see if they still worked. While I was out there, my wife decided to join me ansd let the dogs out, too. Our psycho rescue Sheltie, Georgia, heard one “pop” and took off. This is a dog who dislikes being outdoors. In the 4 1/2 years that we’ve had her, she has never left our yard, unless one of us took her somewhere. We searched for her until about 2:30 am, then resumed the search at first light (Betty did, I slept until 6:00). By the time that she had been gone for 2 days we were pretty much resigned to the idea that she was not coming back. Then On Wednesday morning I got a call from my brother-in-law that there was a dog that looked like Georgia in his yard. By the time I got there she had trotted about a half-mile down the road, but we finally recovered her, smelly, dirty, and tired, but safe.

Thanks! Not since I was a teenager. Should be a fun roadtrip!

06/24/2016 at 7:13 pm #2050473My old diabetic cat, Dolly, just made a lunge for the birds at the suet block just inches from her nose and was stopped by hitting the screen that divided them. Now she is settling down, looking a bit foolish but is again returning her attention to the birds which are also returning and I expect more action soon.

Poohs Pal has been with us since Tuesday night. Actually, he’s here all day M-F as it is, but this is 24/7. Today we finally had to just give in and let him look at stuff on the computer. He’s worn us out for now! We really try to keep the kids off any kind of screen when they’re with us. He and I went to Perrot for a few hours this afternoon. He hiked the entire river trail and back. Next trip, he’ll hike one of the bluff trails…and probably beat me up to the top with energy to spare!
