Lacknothing
ParticipantFive years ago today – probably my most significant and memorable day of geocaching – with the Hitwoman. Who can remember what happened?
Something in a marsh?
Was that the day that I remember someone on TV telling the police about a lady borrowing his ladder for something in the park?
This is exactly that day. The ladder seemed to do the trick and it gave me an excellent vantage point for when the suspect left the scene – awkward – yes – but it certainly did help in the court room.
And do not listen to the Hitwoman – I have never broken ice in a marsh – okay maybe once….on the way to a LCG event. Thankfully, I could PAF to bring dry socks.
The views expressed here are that of myself only and do not necessarily represent that of the WGA board.

MemberPooh’s Pal and I escaped the heat for a couple hours by going to see “Finding Dory.” It was fun, but I especially liked the short, “Piper,” right before it. Anyone who’s seen it would know why! Stay cool.

MemberTheater camp showcase starts in an hour. It is weird that older daughter is running the light board (she aged out of the camp) to accrue volunteer hours while younger daughter is on stage today.

MemberHave fun in oconomowoc. I wish I could go. The only GPS game getting played here lately is Pokemon GO. I hate to admit it we are having fun with it. We have very few caches within our 5 miles, so it is something fun to do when we have an hour in the evening.

MemberIf you ended up with the Shorts Strawberry Shortcake, How did you like it?
I found a four pack of Founder’s Devil Dancer yesterday. I thought about picking it up for someone, but it was $20.
I had the Sam Adam’s Summer Ale last night. It was just a bland wheat beer.
For you other Beer Junkies, October Fest brews are starting to find their way into stores. I have seen Capitol and Shiner so far.

ParticipantMay be changing vacation plans. We were going to the NW part of the state, but maybe Door County would be a better call.
Meetcha at Penninsula SP next week
And you got all those cool Door Co. gadget caches…and the giant smiley!Got back from Door Co. yesterday…didn’t see you 🙁 It sure was more pleasant there than back home. We hit some fierce rain on the way to my daughter’s late this morning.
Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)

MemberUpdate on some local Northern Wisconsin – Ashland and Bayfield Counties.
Hwy 2 from Hurley to Ashland is OPEN again. If anyone is coming from Hayward area to Ashland, there are at least two local routes to get there — Drummond to Delta to Ino to Ashland or some of the local roads around the area near Grand View.My hidden caches north of Hwy 2 are currently not available due to the area closure by the Forest Service:
Storms Damage Washburn Ranger District, Campers Injured, Area Closed
Release Date: Jul 21, 2016
WASHBURN, Wis. (July 21, 2016) – Thunderstorms in the early morning hours today caused significant damage to the Washburn Ranger District of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, trapping campers and causing injuries.
Birch Grove Campground was hit extremely hard and four campers received injuries. U.S. Forest Service personnel and local emergency responders have gained access to the campground and those injured have received medical attention.
The District sustained heavy tree damage and U.S. Forest Service personnel are working diligently with saw teams and heavy equipment to gain access to recreation areas to ensure the safety of the public. The Forest is also working closely with local towns, counties and partners to coordinate emergency response efforts.
The Forest has issued an area closure for the portion of the Washburn Ranger District north of Highway 2. National Forest roads, trails and developed recreation sites north of Highway 2 are closed until further notice. The area sustained heavy damage and there is a risk to public health and safety.
The network of Forest Service roads impacted by the July 11 Storm and flash flooding on the Great Divide and Washburn Ranger Districts may have received additional damages from the storm event early this morning. U.S. Forest Service personnel are reassessing these roads and the closure order will be updated with new information. The public is urged to use extreme caution if traveling in the impacted area as conditions continue to change. Many areas remain or have become inaccessible and are dangerous.
I’d Rather Be Lost Geocaching, Than Found At Home!
