You know something can’t be worthwhile when you are told the name of the training you are going to, for the second time in three years, and you don’t remember what it is about.
I thought today’s training was about job performance evaluations. Nope, it was about methods for teaching kids. Totally not appropriate for my advanced math kids and a true waste of time. I do love the fact that they can put a dollar store plastic pencil container in front of us, put a few crayons, highlighters and markers, slap a sticker on it with their program’s name on it and then have the gall to charge $15 if we want to buy it. They have an app for $3 to help you pick a kid at random in one of your classes. We spent 30 minutes learning how to separate our kids into groups of four.
At least the rest of the week is dedicated to classroom time with a minimum of in-house meetings.
