We had a short vacation with our sons and their families this weekend. First such activity since they were forced to go to the cabin as teenagers. A good time was had by all, and Trekkin’s parents enjoyed seeing us all together, too.
Eventually, they do grow up. Takes some of them longer, but they get there.
08/30/2016 at 2:57 pm #2051399Whats with this 700 obsession ? It must be about the numbers.
Today someone asked my boss what to do in a certain situation. He gave two choices, depending on the circumstances. He said, “It’s all about the numbers.” You know where my mind went!
08/30/2016 at 5:29 pm #2051402I’ve got two different kinds of Gray-headed Woodpeckers coming to my suet feeders. Eventually a couple will become Red-headed, and a couple will become Red-bellied. I can’t wait, maybe they’ll quiet down a bit.
08/30/2016 at 10:43 pm #2051403Fires are back. Nothing too close to here or very big in the area, but the smoke is think enough we can’t see the mountain that’s in all my pictures. This morning I could see just fine, after school – nothing. Guess I need to start checking air quality levels for sports in the morning.

08/31/2016 at 4:13 am #2051406Since my smoke detector started chirping and woke me up almost two hours ago, I thought I would wake you all up too and we could all chat now….oh, I guess this is silent and you’ll just read it at a more reasonable hour.
It’s electrical, not even a battery I can replace. Building manager silenced it and will have it replaced today, at a more reasonable hour.
I suppose I could go in early to work, since I am ready now. (eye roll)
08/31/2016 at 2:57 pm #2051408Hope you can stay awake now, Debby!
This is my day for volunteering. I gave blood. Then I stopped off to turn in my papers to be on the local Habitat building crew. I’ll be on site two weeks from tomorrow, hammer in hand. The house that is just getting started is literally right around the corner from where Trekkin’ and I lived when we were first together. Wow!
08/31/2016 at 3:47 pm #2051409Dragging, but awake. Lots to do on Wednesdays. Repairs weren’t made while I was working. Hopefully tomorrow.
I worked on a Habitat house years ago. I don’t know much about construction, so I was put on the crew that built the shed. I nailed metal corners to the wooden frame. Glad to help but I wasn’t much help.
08/31/2016 at 9:42 pm #205141009/01/2016 at 4:26 am #2051411FTP for the first of September. I woke up at 2:30 ready to start my day…grr. At least I was able to get back to sleep and wake up at a slightly less unreasonable hour.

09/01/2016 at 8:05 am #2051413So to explain that frickin’ huge SL-Noonan pic…
Our encounter with some friendly Noonans when we were in Oregon a few weeks ago more than made up for our disappointment at not having any Bigfoot sightings while we were out there. Made arrangements to meet up at GC6E0VQ on our route from Crater Lake to northern CA, and other than swatting at the giant mosquitoes that Noonan is now raising on his spread, we had a great time chatting! Found three Rkoehn1 hides, but that was just a drop in the bucket for all that he has placed since relocating to the Pacific Time Zone.
Have a great school year, Noonan, and stay safe from the fires!
