Hi koolma k.  We did some nice EarthCache hikes on the IAT last weekend.  The Monches segment has one, with several Mister Greenthumb caches on the way.  No tree climbing!

We’ll  be heading to Point later today.  We may find a few caches, but the main reason is to take part in banding at a Saw Whet Owl banding station.  Wish the forecast was a little better, though.

Koolma? It feels like forever ago we were trudging through the swamps of Arkham.  I am glad to see you are alive and trying to cache.

New Job:  I no longer peddle adult beverages.  The company I work for acquired the distribution rights for some juices from pepsico.  They decided I was one of the people that will be given a chance to grow new business.   It seems like a good opportunity. The only drawback so far is that I have to do the entire process myself,  meaning I pick my own orders, load my truck, drive a 28 foot straight reefer truck, deliver, sell, and merchandise.  I am tired after 61 hours this week.

Welcome back, koolma_k!  It’s homecoming month here, unofficially.  My hope is more people will check in more often.  Sorry, I am no help regarding your download issues.

BBG, isn’t it strange how good work is rewarded with…more work?  Maybe doing it all will offer you more control of your situation.

BBG!! yup, I remember it well….. remember that kid that stripped down to his drawers to jump in the water after the duck?? He is all grown up, starting his 3rd year this month in the USCG as an engineer 😀 (yeah, proud mama!!) not sure if you met my daughter, she graduated this summer and just got her CNA license and will be starting nursing school next year with the goal of being a nurse practitioner 🙂  I told them all their lives that they were my retirement plan, I invested all my money in them… looks like I may have a nice return on my investment…lol!!!

thank you all for the welcome back 🙂 T&B glad to see you are still going strong!

BBG, I may just pm you to pick your brain on the gps, I remembered it doesn’t like chrome and went to IExp, did the firmware update, did the Delorme download, enabled java script, plugged and unplugged everything, restarted it all… and still doesn’t want to download to gps… grrrr

Also, it has been at least a good 3-4+yrs… any good series or muti’s in the burbs that are fun but you don’t get too wet and dirty (a little is fine) and I don’t have my tree climber extraordinaire anymore and my old butt ain’t climbing a tree!! lol Maybe a entertaining Halloween cache??

I just spotted a couple of snow birds under my feeders. Do they know something we don’t ? Is that 70deg. on my thermometer just an illusion ?

We’ve had at least 50 crows hanging around the yard the past few days. Some sit up in the top of the ponderosa pines, working on the cones and the rest are on the ground, downwind, eating the rewards.

We just got back from an overnight trip to Point.  Got a new life bird on the (sort of) way there.  Then took part in the owl banding program at Linwood Springs.  I adopted a banded owl (not one that was there, just one they’ve banded) and named her Aizlyn.  Also got to hold one that was netted, though I’m not sure how I actually feel about that.  Fun short trip  The fall colors seem to have peaked in central Wisconsin.

Back from our 5 day vacation up nort’. Thanks for keeping the drivel going.
We found our final WGA SP cache on Madeline Island Thursday. Wisconsin has some pretty special parks to visit.

                Congrats!

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
