Good morning.
That was strange indeed, BigJim. Must have been something you said.
12/12/2016 at 9:07 am #2052682That’s weird, Jim. Did you eat or drink anything different? Glad they could help you, though.
12/12/2016 at 10:19 am #2052683Talk about feeling your heart in your stomach! We got a call at 10 that Angelo wasn’t at school. Checked with our son and he got on the bus as usual. (He has spotty cell reception at his place, so we’re the backup contact).
Our son contacted them and it turned out a substitute teacher incorrectly marked him absent. That took a few hours off my lifespan, I’m sure.

Birdin, whoever called you was very unhappy with that teacher. I hated when that happened but it always turned out that the child was there and the attendance program wasn’t clicked correctly. Sometimes the darn program would jump to the next kid.
12/12/2016 at 2:54 pm #2052685Oh, we’re both retired educators, so we know how that works. It’s no fun being on this end of the phone call, though. I guess mom actually followed his tracks from the house to the bus pickup to make sure he made it on the bus while she was on hold with the secretary checking things out.

Nope. ER Doc was pretty sure that it was not an allergic reaction. I’ve never had an allergic reaction to anything and I didn’t have exposure to anything that I haven’t been exposed to many times before. He said it can be genetic, but the test results for that still haven’t come back (the intern ordered the wrong test the first time, so it had to be re-done). He also said that in many cases like this they never do find out the cause.

12/13/2016 at 7:45 am #2052690FTP Tues the 13th Wake up Sleepyheads! I had a visit from two pheasant/quail type birds yesterday at my feeder – two Chukars. These were identified by none other than “Birdin” because I called them Bobwhite Quail. Then later in the afternoon a female Cardinal came for safflower and sunflower seeds. A great day Up North!

12/13/2016 at 4:22 pm #2052694Got a loaner vehicle while car is being repaired…a minivan. Almost makes me want to round up the Fugitives for a frigid cache run…almost. I had to miss out this year. But I won’t be adding to the smiley total tomorrow–too cold for me. Warm thoughts to those of you braving this weather, whether for work or play.
12/13/2016 at 9:11 pm #2052702and the medical saga of BigJim continues. I got a thorn in my left hand about 7 weeks ago. Tried to remove it, but it broke off. Three weeks ago I went to urgent care, but was referred to orthopedics. Yesterday was my appointment with ortho. Doc set me up for surgery today. He thinks he completely removed the foreign body. so now I’m sitting here with a numb left hand, typing one-handed.

12/13/2016 at 9:55 pm #2052704I haven’t posted since page 732 of this thread. Rod, I’ll have you know that while we were having our dispute over the phone, I was watching your Oconto Blue Devils play here in Green Bay against the East Red Devils. Oconto won tonight. I’ll admit, I think you’re right on one point. That will be rectified soon. A bird in the hand is worth a cache in the bush.

12/14/2016 at 5:42 am #2052710Good morning for Humpday….Wednesday…Payday. Its already 10deg warmer here than yesterday at this time.
12/14/2016 at 2:50 pm #2052730Our grand daughter has been learning to sew. She made a little flannel bag for her dolls and now thinks she can handle anything. I have been buying her a small sewing kit of her own as stuff goes on sale, and today I picked up two “easy to sew” patterns. When we have a little time, I’ll take her to pick out fabric to make one of these items. I will have to steer her to sturdy cotton and away from the glitzy, shiny stuff. She really thinks she can handle that stuff. I’ve been sewing since I was her age and *I* struggle with it! Nothing like the confidence of youth!
12/14/2016 at 3:51 pm #2052731Geeze Jim…you’ve been having a terrible run of bad luck lately…hope Santa is good to you at least.
