I went out about an hour ago to play a bit in the craphas, only about 3.5 “, I’d expected more. I shoveled a path to the garage and then it was back in the house to contemplate my next move. I sat down at the computer and the right lens fell out of my glasses, prevented the screw from falling on the floor and then located the lens on the floor before rolling over and breaking it. It took about a half an hour to get the glasses back together and now I’m a little shy about going back out in the craphas. I don’t know if the screw is worn to the point of failing again and if it pops out again in the craphas its all over.

Now lets see, I think my old glasses are in the car where they would be available in case this happened out in the woods somewhere far from home.

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

My earlier disappointment at only having 3.5′ of craphas in East Sandland has been somewhat mollified by additional bands of the stuff coming through.

I’m getting used to my old glasses again. They have one advantage over the new ones, THE LENSES HAVE NEVER FALLEN OUT.

    Good morning.

I’ve just been out shoveling some craphas, it hardly feels -14 deg when your busy.

I think jar42 is going for more posts than finds this month.

Yeah, but this month it’s more posts than finds for me, too.  Gotta check things out here once in a while.

I shoveled about 4″ Friday night and Mr. Evil did some snow blowing Saturday morning. We shoveled about another 3″ Saturday evening after coming home from an event. I dreaded the cold temps this morning so Mr. Evil put on his hot pants and finished up the rest (thank you). We will take the cold temps without the wind any day. And, the Pack won!! Good weekend.

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

We were very fortunate, our neighbor came down and plowed our driveway so we didn’t have to get out in the below zero weather plow.  We were also fortunate because the amount of snow we were supposed to get went else where 🙂

Good morning and welcome to another below zero day here in Wisconsin.  Everyone stay warm and have a fantastic day 🙂

Trekkin’ cleared us out of less than expected snowfall, so I could get out and do a less than pleasant Christmas Bird Count.  Even dressed properly for conditions, we sure felt that wind screaming from the north across Lake Onalaska!  First year we did the count with snowshoes, too.  It’s an urban area, so not a typical approach.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the shopping malls, and now on the ground.  My landlord is responsible for having someone clear out the driveway and parking lot, and that person generally shovels out the sidewalk as well.  Seeing as how nobody has done that yet even though the craphas arrived on Saturday, I thought I would do the neighborhood a service to at least shovel out the sidewalk seeing as how there are a lot of people who walk in my neighborhood.

Since I didn’t venture out on Saturday in the snowstorm for the Winter Solstice Event and it’s downright balmy today, I’m heading out to make some yellow snow 🙂
