Just got back from about an hour of xc skiing.  It’s already getting sloppy…and we were overdressed with a sweatshirt!

But we were on skis, so it’s good!

Another random use-it-or-lose-it day off.  I should be more productive than just doing laundry, which I would have had to do even if I had worked today.  How do you retired people do it, find the motivation to do more than goof off?

We both do have things we “need” to do (besides a lot of grandkid daycare).  Trekkin’ is involved in the local historical society.  I am part of the local Audubon and also build at the Habitat site every Thursday.  We were just talking yesterday that it helps to have *something* you need to do, even if most of the time you just goof off!

There is going to be an Ice Castle in the Dells this year.  My son has taken our grand daughter to it the past two years in Minneapolis.  I went along and brought Pooh’s Pal last year.  It’s a pretty neat deal, and the Dells is a lot closer for us.  No idea if Elsa is still going to be the hot attraction at these or if something else will be taking her place.

I swear, you retired folks are busier than when you were working.  It must be because you have more time and flexibility to do the things you enjoy doing.

What happens when you retire……

I walk in the door tonight after my regular day helping build for Habitat.  Trekkin says, in a peckish manner….”I didn’t know you were going to be gone all day!”

He thought I went to yoga.  No clue what day it is.  However, my yoga mat is in a bag by the back door, he should have realized I wasn’t there.

Well, I survived the last day of school before Christmas vacation. Kids were wound up, so I threw out the old, “This morning is going to be like any other day of school. If it’s not, then there will be no party this afternoon.” That settled them down.
