The new site is frickin’ fast. Before the change yesterday, it took about 8 seconds to load this page. Now it is around 3 seconds.

01/09/2015 at 4:16 pm #2033419It’s always fun to have things to look forward to in the coming months. We’ve already got tickets to see Charlie Daniels with friends next summer. I’ve been looking for a dulcimer workshop within reasonable distance in a non-winter season and found one the end of May in this cool little town.
No geocaches in the area, so no distractions of that nature. Reasonable cost for the workshop, held in an actual dulcimer shop! I emailed the organizer and asked to be put on the update list for registration. Yippee!

A strange bird sighting this afternoon. There was a Bald Eagle circling the playground at my daughter’s school in Wauwatosa. I have seen Red Tailed Hawks in the area, but never an Eagle. There is a mom that works at the Audubon Nature Center. I was heading to talk to her about it and she was already looking for me. We both thought we were seeing things. A third confirmed the sighting.
Summer plans, we are thinking about a road trip if the gas stays cheap.
01/09/2015 at 4:51 pm #2033421Wonder if the eagle thought something on the playground was a prey animal? I think Mrs. Timberline Echoes witnessed an eagle pick up a soccer ball and then it got stuck on its talons for a bit. Our Cooper’s Hawk was chased out of its hiding spot in the trees when one of the dogs went out this morning.

I have lived in this community for 40 years and this was the first Bald Eagle I have ever seen here. We think there is something on the roof that interests the birds we often see Hawks circling the same pattern. It was kind of cool.

I saw him in concert in 1994 in Longmont, CO. He put on a great show, lots of energy. And he’s so amazing on the fiddle!

01/10/2015 at 8:21 am #2033458Charlie came to Marinette when they still had Celebrate- a weeklong music festival. His concert was memorable because a drunk lady got on stage with him. Can’t recall if she already had a broken arm or if it broken as she was exiting the stage.
