A good day to find a few caches before it gets cold again. No snow left on the ground here.
There’s snow here but not much…got out this weekend myself to make a couple of yellow smileys in the snow 🙂 I’ve been catching up on reading my mail too…noticed that Merc Inc. got his article published in this month’s issue of FTF Magazine…there’s some scary caching experiences shared in there!

03/06/2017 at 2:41 pm #2054232Birdin’, did you ever read any of the Chloe Ellefson series by Kathleen Ernst? She is a Wisconsin writer who sets her stories in real places and uses real historical events but in a ficticious way. I think you would enjoy them. Chloe plays an instrument that I think you know rather well 😉 and the newest book uses Civil War reenactments as its theme. And really, I would recommend the series to anyone, but I thought of Gwyn in particular.

03/06/2017 at 7:59 pm #2054238That’s a huge line of storms coming!
03/06/2017 at 8:03 pm #2054239Looks like I might not be caching tomorrow. Thankfully I have no plans to.

03/06/2017 at 9:22 pm #2054240The storms were strong, loud, a little scary….and very fast. Now it’s just rain.
03/07/2017 at 6:27 am #2054241FTP for a windy Tuesday!
03/07/2017 at 10:56 am #2054244It’s just a little breezy outside right now. I wonder how many cahces are gonna be found “on the ground”.

03/08/2017 at 9:45 am #2054250The wind has been horrible and constant sinceMonday night. Supposed to die down by noon, after which time we hope to go exploring. Temple mounds built by “immigrants” from Cahokia. We visited that site about a year ago, so this should be interesting…if these winds ever stop.

The archaic copper culture! Whereabouts?

03/08/2017 at 11:25 am #2054253Trempealeau. Three remaining temple mounds. I suppose local kids have known of them for generations, but there is a new trail there. We noticed it last fall, just before they were done doing the trail work and signage, but didn’t want to make the hike over the winter, given the terrain there. Hopefully we can visit today. It is not in Perrot Park, but they do have displays there now that tie in to this information. Our younger son took part in a dig in that area when he was about Pooh’s Pal’s age.
03/08/2017 at 12:13 pm #2054254How old is the site dated to?
