We headed down to Goose Pond last evening with a friend, hoping to see a rare bird for the area.  Bird didn’t show, but it was an amazing sunset over the pond with a few thousand geese of various ilk, swans, ducks and frogs carrying on.  Wonderful experience, better even than NCIS.

We had a Great Horned Owl calling loudly from our pine trees around midnight last night.  He moved east after a bit.  We couldn’t hear “hooo” he was talking to, but I know there’s a nesting pair somewhere around here, probably in the woods above Lake Neshonoc.
