Hurray Hurray, the 29th of April, camping season starts today! Okay, I get that doesn’t quite rhyme, but that’s okay. Thankfully, those pesky blood suckers aren’t in season yet. I haven’t been to the Red Cross in 20 years, but I’m still a 10 gallon blood donor thanks to the skeeters. If killing those pesky skeeters was murder, I would be a serial killer.

Still haven’t seen one of those, but ticks are out and about…even in Minnesota. We were at their spring event today near St. Peter MN and saw a few. Also saw some pretty scenery and wildflowers, at a time when of course I decided not to bother with the camera. We didn’t get nearly all the caches in that pretty park, though, so maybe we can go back for some different blooms!

New life bird early this morning! No photos, but I did get a good enough look for ID by field marks. If it weren’t so freaking cold, I’d have dropped the kayak to get a better look, but I’ll be happy with this and hope another (nice) day they move in closer and sit still for a photo.
