Guess I missed the notice about Blue Switch Day.  Nice surprise souvenir!

I ended up finding eight caches today and received the souvenir to show for it.  It also looks like someone chose one of mine to find for said souvenir.

Second time in NYC & NJ in 3 months and no cache to be logged! Blame it on the crazy cab drivers and my phone losing all charge. Had fun spending the day in Manhattan though. There are A LOT of people here!! And now, I have a plane delay so I am sitting where I have a great view of the downtown NYC landscape enjoying a Founders Porter.

The pigeons are funny in Central Park. I was told to be cautious because they will purposely poop on you if you pay them too much attention. I can hear some little bird tweeting from here, but cannot find it up in the rafters of the airport. They are probably hiding from the pigeons flying around down in baggage claim . . .

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

Founder’s Porter?  Sounds like a beer I should try.  I’ve had their All Day IPA several times at Old Chicago.

Kitchen remodel in progress…what a mess! After ripping open the walls, the contractors found excelsior and rags stuffed in for insulation. No wonder the cabinets were so drafty 🙂

Back from 2 hours of weeding the peony beds at Sisson’s Peony Garden. The volunteer with the rototiller didn’t agree with my hand weeding. I didn’t agree with his machine spreading crabgrass and quack grass rhizomes and chopping off plant roots! As volunteers, we can all do our own thing, I guess.

Thank you for taking care of your little part of the peony patch, Jim.  I was wondering how that was going after your event last June.  Looking forward to the bloom updates in a few weeks.

I went to see the Timber Rattlers this afternoon, and they won 5-4 in 10 innings.  I was also able to grab a few caches while I was in Appleton.

That’s cool that you got to cache in Appleton hodag, find anything of note? I made a new travel bug today to take to the WGA campout https://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=4367759
