Are fairy gardens passé now? I wasn’t going to run all over to find plants for one my grandson made a few years back, and only found one small scale coleus to put in.  I punted with a variegated mint for the other plants.  No sign of those lovely flowering moss plants anywhere I’ve looked.  🙁

That’s the thing that sucks right now.  He wanted to make Rhinelander a unique caching destination, but it looks like something got the better of him.  The dreaded wet log was one reason given for archiving a particular cache.  Thankfully, densspot and CBIIJ came in to pick up where Dan is leaving off.

My understanding is that Dan found a girlfriend and Harleys and just shifted to those interests.  We have connections to that area, so I think my source is fairly reliable.

Those things and he got frustrated with the “TFTC” logs on caches that he put a lot of effort into, the few cachers that went to his long-hike-in-the-woods caches vs. the PNG’s, and vandalism to some of his caches.

One case of vandalism that I witnessed on a WCD cache was pretty minor compared to pictures I’ve seen of others, it just makes me wonder what’s been going on up there.  As far as the girlfriend and Harleys. . .I know he just recently found a girlfriend, which is great for him, but I think been into motorcycles for at least a few years based on seeing his GC profile when I first discovered his caches.  Apparently, there have been some discussions on Facebook concerning what’s really been the cause of Dan’s frustrations.  I won’t go into any detail here since those discussions were confidential.

Haven’t checked in here for over a week so now I’m caught up on what some of you have been doing. Today is my second day home after a 5 day hospital stay. So that is what I have been doing.

You were missed at the cache quest event.  I hope you’re feeling better!  We were pleased to check in with the slowest time for the 12 caches (last place!!!), but then Froggerz & Uncle Fun checked in with a time 5 minutes slower than us.  A stunning upset.
