08/04/2017 at 12:14 am #2055844First to post on Friday the 4th.
The buck stops here. . .and gets entered into Where's George.

08/04/2017 at 12:15 am #2055845I’m up late again tonight in preparation of my Saint Louis trip. I got the dollar bills sorted out that I’ll be entering into Where’s George, and I’ll be entering and marking them in three batches. The first will be done up north in Lakewood unless I can sneak in a ZIP trip somewhere else. The second will be done here in Green Bay. The final batch will be done in Saint Louis. A ZIP trip on Where’s George is when someone travels to another ZIP code for the sole purpose of entering bills there even if it’s not one they would normally go to. Several people are actually currently on their way to Saint Louis right now by way of out of the way places just so they can enter a bill or two in different ZIP codes and maybe get hits in hard to get counties.

Won’t be seeing anybody soon.</h1> Oh man, that’s worse than my caching injury from two years ago. I hope you get well soon.

08/05/2017 at 9:53 pm #2055862Another day of preparing for my Saint Louis trip today, I entered 100 bills into Where’s George and stamped them as well. After doing that, I looked at my Milwaukee pocket query and was disappointed that the cache two blocks away from the Intermodal Station is currently disabled because of construction. I DNF’ed that two years ago the last time I went to Saint Louis, and now I still can’t find a cache in Milwaukee County. Oh the frustration. I’ll make up for that by entering another 100 bills into Where’s George while I’m there, at least I have that.

Won’t be seeing anybody soon.</h1>Sorry to hear this! Recover quickly.
I checked on your old hometown yesterday and everything looks the same.

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

Won’t be seeing anybody soon.</h1> Uh oh, that’s not good. Hope you heal quickly. Trekkin’ is walking a line with that; he was eye poked a couple years back while caching and has a detached vitreous tendon. He was told he’d “get used to it,” but hasn’t, really. If there are certain indicators, it might be detaching completely and then maybe you’d have a roommate in the surgical suite.
08/06/2017 at 6:38 pm #2055878I actually poked one of my eyes two years ago while caching. Thankfully it was just a corneal abrasion, and I was given a prescription for that. Rod, is this they eye you can actually still see out of? Just curious. I promise not to pick on you any more for having been a ref.

08/06/2017 at 7:59 pm #2055879Thanks for the well wishes…surgery apparently went well although I won’t be seeing anything out of that eye for week or two. When I had a retinal detachment in my right eye seven years ago, I lost about a third of my peripheral vision. It looks like I’ll have better luck with this one…knock on wood. The good part was they suck the vitreous out during surgery so I don’t have that monster floater in there any more. I know how Trekkin’ feels!
The surgeon used a lazer to spot weld the retina in place and placed a gas bubble in there to hold it in place. I have to sleep face down and am ending up staring at my feet a lot until it dissipates.

Good luck with that. I found that the best course of action is to beg Sandlanders for mercy.
