FTP for Hump Day September 6th!

That’s not in town. :) Hey, is your hide in Henes Park in the lake?

Probably, judging from the logs. There’s a rock painting craze going on around here. I think someone was hiding rocks, found my cache, and tossed it. I ended up archiving it as I’m pretty much done with geocaching. If I’m near a cache, ok, I’ll go find it. But I’m not gonna go out of my way to do it. Hence why I still have to find GC6KQ1Y myself. I didn’t have a reason to go down that road yet.

Boy, it’s scary to go to the Habitat worksite and be considered one of the “experienced” volunteers!  There were only about three of us there today.  Among other new skills, I learned how to frame out a garage service door, including making the header and cripples.  Whole new vocabulary, too.  We had a group of ladies from a local salon who were volunteering as a teambuilding deal today.  One had run the miter saw before.  The others…..noobs!  Troopers, though.

Hope you can make it, we’re planning to be there, too.  We can’t linger, because we have another engagement in the evening back here.

And hope you have some success in finding new digs.

I just checked my calendar and it’s not quite Friday the 13th.  However, it’s a sad day for country music.  Two artists who had performed at the Hodag Country Fest in recent years died today.  First it was Don Williams who died after a short illness, then it was Troy Gentry of Montgomery Gentry as the result of a helicopter crash.  Did anyone have them in their Dead Pool for this year?

The buck stops here. . .and gets entered into Where's George.

Greeter shift at the Mead Wildlife Area tomorrow, then headed to WI Dells to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary by forking over money to the Ho Chunk. (The anniversary is actually on Monday.)

                  FTP for Packer Sunday!!

                  #2056216

                  Well, busy weekend!

My wife and daughter drove down on Friday to look at houses. We think we finally have a winner, about a mile from Sandlanders and within possible walking distance from work (if I really wanted to).

We thought we’d still be looking at homes on Saturday and be able to swing by the event on the way out of town, but we got everything done in one night, so we were back in Marinette before the event even started.

Got the two caches Rod & Todd were harassing me about outside Marinette.

Stopped to find a really neat Crow-T multi on the way back to Adams. Got pulled over by a cop pulling back onto the highway though. Thought for sure I’d be looking at every possible ticket he could because I still have out of state plates, but after sitting there for almost 20 minutes he came back with a warning. Really nice guy!

That stop made me miss the first quarter of the Packers game, but I guess I didn’t miss too much.

Time to log some caches and figure out what’s going on this week.

Checking out caches, breweries and cars in Michigan this week.  Disappointed in Founders “Doom” but they had Devil Dancer on tap.  Tried a sample of the DKLM too, boozy, reminded me of Southern Comfort.  Stopped for a giant ammo can in Holland.  CO came home as we pulled in,  cache needs a major redo as the top has crumbled.

This page took forever, so let’s put a nail in it.
