Have a great day and get out geocaching!
10/01/2017 at 1:38 am #2056375We went apple picking today, which is an annual ritual for us. We bring along our baseball gloves. One person picks and throws (while on the orchard-supplied ladders) and one to three people catch, receive, and place in the baskets. We then rotate who the picker/thrower is. It’s a great way to pick apples and we get a lot of fun comments from other people when they see our system for picking apples. This year we went with WI.Hibiscus and WI.Hi’s Guy. When our boys were younger they would join us (sometimes with their friends) and we’d often have the picker throw to the relay man (or relay mom), who would in turn relay the throw to the basket person. We had a lot of fun.

Went on a drive yesterday, no color anywhere! Bridge out in downtown Dells … what a mess. Traffic backed up to Famous Dave’s from one end and past Timbavati Wildlife Park in the other. Stopped for popcorn at Portage, hadn’t had that before. Just as good as the stuff I have had from the Dairy Queen in Neenah.

Had to carry minimal stuff on the ride…I just had a camera and my friend had her phone/camera. The company warned us about things we might drop and lose forever and liability for what it might hit. But using satellite and GC maps and landmarks, I found the general area. I am thinking when I drive out there, it will look familiar.

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
