I hope everyone was able to clean up all the craphas we got yesterday.  One of my neighbors takes his snowblower all the way up and down my side of the block to clear out the sidewalk.

Yesterday morning I blew the dusting of craphas that we got off my driveway with my little battery powered leaf blower. In the afternoon we got an additional 1/2″, I used a shovel for that. I was surprised to see the town’s big Oshkosh plow out on my road this morning, must be making a little Christmas money.

I’m hoping at least some of our Snowies move across the river to my count circle by Saturday.  It’s been a phenomenal irruption year.  If you do see one, please keep your distance.  Though it’s a sign of a good breeding year, these birds are stressed and need to rest.  If they notice you….you’re too close!

In other news….while Trekkin’ is braving travel back home right now, I’m staying put.  Partly because of the bird count, but also because our elderly dog just needs someone around all the time now….or we have messes to clean up.  Doggie diapers just don’t stay on her.  Hard to watch this decline, it’s been pretty rapid,  🙁 but she still wants to be a dog, so she’s still with us.
