The fact that they’re volunteer means that there’s no incentive for you guys to really do anything, other than this is something you guys care about.

The only incentive is to serve the membership the best way we can with the means we have. I think the WGA has done some really great things this past year by busting out of the norm and trying new and different things because we have listened to the members, seen the posts, talked to them individually, or in a group. My highlight of the year was us personally inviting the original founding fathers, as well as all of the past BOD of the WGA, to our two main events and they showed up and shared stories and gave feedback to what was done back then and now. We reached out personally and it personally humbled me at the turn out.

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

I totally disagree with this statement.  Yes, we are volunteers but we do what we do for the membership.  Maybe you should run for BOD and see how it really works.

Who the heck knows what the cache of the month is for December?

They are posted on the COTM page, like every month.

Thanks for the clarification guys.  There’s always more to volunteer boards do than meets the eye.

I just booked a trip to Saint Louis in August, now I just need to wait for the announcement about the hotel and the group reservation for that weekend.  The event I attend there has coincided with Cache Bash in previous years, but the event organizers moved it up a week so I’ll consider doing both this year.

Looks like mine in Green Bay is still on said LCG list, maybe in spring it will be lonely no more.

If I lived in Marinette, I would’ve found it a long time ago.

Speaking of Marinette, it looks like Marinette Co may not have any lonely ones at all? But I’m just going by memory of my borders of the county compared to the satellite map of the list. Are there any counties that don’t have any lonely caches at all?

Menominee County shouldn’t have any lonelies, but that’s because the one cache there is a virtual.
