I don’t know if I’d want that app, but I’ve always had a Garmin.

01/31/2018 at 10:24 am #2057662I use my phone exclusively for caching. The app hasn’t been very useful ever since they switched away from having free/paid versions, there is just one now.
I use the iPhone app Cachly about 75% of the time now for caching. It has all of the features of the original iPhone geocaching app, and much more. I switched to Cachly when the frog discontinued their classic app. Some of my favorite features are switching between the 14 different maps (including trail maps and even driving directions), and the ability to store offline maps so that you can use the phone app even when you don’t have a cell data connection. Whenever I go caching for more than just a few, I load them to my phone as an “offline map” so that ONLY the caches I chose will appear on the map if desired. You can also import bookmarks & PQs if desired. Of course, most of the time I just have it show me what’s available nearby spontaneously.

Actually, I’m not in GB. I used the Cachly app to pick a different area from where I’m at to show how it can be used to research any area.

02/01/2018 at 8:46 am #2057669I have Cachly and GeoBucket and a couple others just in case. I have seen an app (on Android) that will let you scan the code on a TB for you instead of manually typing it in. Haven’t found it on iPhone yet.
The best sig is no sig.

I use c:geo app for my Samsung S8 along with a add on app called GPS Status which is a radar like screen (instead of using a compass to navigate). I still pull out my Garmin 64st on those rare occasions (<5%) when I am in pine trees, ravines, or need to precisely nail down which side of a bridge to look for a D5.
You can store caches offline ahead if time too for where there is no phone service.
