I spent the early part of my afternoon at the library listening to music and got away with it. The Brown County Library is hosting a concert series over the next few weeks at the downtown branch, and the first was today.

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

I’ll have you know that I sent the cold weather down there for you to enjoy. You can thank my little green friend.

02/12/2018 at 6:40 pm #2057861I don’t know what it is with kids these day eating Tide pods. You know, when I was a kid I didn’t eat Tide pods, I had to eat my Tide right out of the box.

02/12/2018 at 7:13 pm #2057862You came all the way here? Aren’t there places like in Tomah or the Dells with those items? I was surprised to find three Trumpeter Swans on the river below the spillway. It was my Christmas Bird count area, too. Where were they then????
Dells: no
Tomah: my wife says no.
We’ve run to Sun Prairie as well, looking for affordable, gluten free, and organic food. We were spoiled when we were living in New Richmond. Hudson and River Falls had several co-ops and health food stores that sold just what we needed at reasonable prices.

02/12/2018 at 8:10 pm #2057863Anyone watching the Olympics? I’ve caught a few events. It’s funny how I develop a short-lived interest and a surprising amount of expertise in sports I otherwise wouldn’t watch. I like hearing the personal interest stories too.
02/12/2018 at 9:47 pm #2057866I think the all powerful Wizard of OC struck again, this time from Texas. However, I had the tools to combat this new curse. About 20 minutes ago, two different light bulbs in my computer area burned out at the same time. Thankfully I have a large box of fluorescent bulbs given to me by my landlord when I moved in ten years ago. This is only the second time I’ve had to replace bulbs in that light fixture, the first being within the first year I lived at my current home coords. I’m pleasantly surprised that one of the bulbs was an old incandescent that was in use before I moved in.

02/12/2018 at 9:48 pm #2057867I should add that me changing a light bulb should be considered an olympic sport.
