It started out pretty, except for the fact it is April. Then it turned to those pelting shards that just make a simple walk to the car miserable. I didn’t have to deal with the wind, choosing to skip evening plans. I was completely plowed out by 5:00 a.m. Other than the timing, it wasn’t the worst of spring storms.
04/04/2018 at 6:56 pm #2059017Spring storms? That’s more like it, especially when it involved a little bit of rain. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. . .SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Nope. I estimated 6″ and one local channel said we had 6.5. We haven’t had the big accumulations you have had this winter!
04/04/2018 at 8:51 pm #2059023We should never have left Padre Island at the end of Feb. We’ve had three snowstorms since…and it appears there’s a couple of more due tomorrow night…enough already!!!

04/04/2018 at 10:31 pm #2059026I almost never buy extended warranties. One exception was Big Red. The salesman is a friend, and he offered us a 10 year, unlimited mileage warranty on the engine and power train for $1500 with a $100 deductable. In the summer of 2016 I had an issue with a knock in the engine. It took almost a whole month to get it done, but they replaced the whole engine – $100. A couple months later the water pump went out – $100. Last week I took it in for an oil change, and they found leaks in both transmission coolant lines, the oil pan was rusty and leaking, the rack-and pinion needed to be replaced, and the left front axle seal was leaking and needed to be replaced. All that – $100. Not sure how much all that would have cost, but I believe that we are approaching $8000. Not a bad investment.

04/05/2018 at 8:11 am #2059029I agree, BigJim should pick my lottery numbers. I could use a few extra dollars for my Saint Louis trip this August.

04/05/2018 at 8:14 am #2059030I’ve had a car salesman suggest an extended warranty to me with every purchase. I always give the same reply “If it breaks when it’s just out of warranty, I’ll get rid of it and get something more reliable”, of course the appliance dealer also get this same reply.

That’s usually my response as well.

04/06/2018 at 7:31 am #2059038I’ll take FTP today. It’s been awhile. Have a great day everyone.
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

04/06/2018 at 7:44 am #2059039Slipped on the ice getting out of my truck this morning. Hit my head on the truck and bit my tongue. Going to be a long day.
