Just down the block from me, one of my neighbors sold their house and moved out on Thursday.  I just got to meet the new homeowners today, and they’re already moved in and unpacked.

The snow melted just in time over these past 3 days for CITO Sunday here in Milwaukee.

Happy Earth Day everybody.  I normally walk the trails at Baird Creek in Green Bay, but the trails were still had too much craphas that still needs to melt.  Besides, I had a political event I wanted to go to instead.

for Monday, April 23rd. How many people got sunburn this weekend?

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

I think it’s time to guess which day we hit page 1000.

        I’ll say June 13th.

Me (to wife last night): Hey, a new cache just was posted, want to go?

        Her: Ok

We drive the ~30 to SE Sandland.

Find cache. Wow – 3rd to find and the names are not very familiar to me at all.

Thinking…maybe it’s one of those “CO and or kids/friends sign log first but don’t log find until someone else logs it” things…

Check webpage later. Nope, we were the third different stop for that cache. The first two were the normal short posts. I’m still working on mine…

The reason I’m still working is I’m trying to figure out what to do about the “money” I found in the cache. It’s a bucket buried in the ground with a nifty camo cover. Probably would give it a favorite point, except there was $400 dollars in the bucket. So, I reached down and picked it up and it clearly isn’t printed on the correct stock paper. The rest of the bill looks like an authentic “new” $100 bill with some strange/Chinese writing on it. We have one student that is a native Mandarin/Cantonese speaker, but he’s gone today.

What in the world are these 4 fake $100 bills doing in a new cache in the middle of nowhere Sandland?

I’ll keep you posted with what we figure out. Going to be contacting the CO once I get time at work.

FTP for Tuesday. My coffee maker died yesterday. Had to get the camping coffee pot out and make it the old-fashioned way. Trying out my new coffee maker this morning.

Page 1000? That’s 82 pages away. At a rate of one page every two days we’re looking at over 5 months. Unless we really turn up the pace on the useless drivel. I’m going with September 23 – that’s my birthday.

So with all the family stuff of late, I hadn’t been out birding much.  Now that life’s settling back in, I went out yesterday and had awesome views…and photos…of two really elusive marsh birds…..Sora and Bittern.  Thanks Dad!  Dad got me involved in photography when I was a preteen and it never left once bitten.  Nature photography is how he got me started, too.

Looking forward to your log. Hope the stream was roaring!

I looked for your troll cache but wasn’t dressed for a good search. Looks like a raccoon was hunting for it!
