Finally made it to Bend today. My plan was leave by 8, get five Delorme pages, retrieve our TB that found it’s way to its final destination and then Whole Foods (my wife’s reason for going). Maybe sightseeing if we have time.

Last night she says it may be just me & the daughter going because her PTSD was flaring up just thinking about the drive. I understand and realize this is a big step for her.

This prompts me to add the Volcano in Bend earthcache to my list, because the way up would terrorize her.

This morning, things change: leaving two hours later, with her and no stopping along the route (different than my route). White knuckles for three hours for her.

Stopped at Red Robin to eat (first time ever for us). That section of town is one huge tourist/shopping trap. The girls shopped. I made a quick 10 cache walkable list and hit the pavement to walk off my stress. Found 5, DNF 2, 1LEO talking to some Tweens right on top of a nano and my time ran out as I was looking for one on a hill across from where we parked. One not searched for at all.

What was really strange was seeing people playing beach volleyball, barefoot and in shorts, in January, with snow covered mountains in the background.

Never made it to the store or TB

the drive home was rough because it was sunset.

    Ugh

BigJim, seeing bald eagles out in the world is just always cool.  I saw one on Friday morning too.

That’s the story!  I had posted something earlier and it didn’t show up.  I thought there was an error message with my phone or maybe the squirrel just didn’t like my post and chucked it.  Now there’s a response and it’s showing up.

See what you made me do? Resorting to cheapies! Disgusting!

All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.

I should have gotten myself a squirrel before doing all those stats updates for the old drivel.  😕 😛

Living along the St Croix made me expect to see bald eagles. There was a pair we would see regularly in our neighborhood.

I was pleasantly surprised to have a similar experience our here. I’m sure it is a different pair.

The Squirrel is on a strict diet of Spam.

If it is, it just ate my post for #13 and sent it back to page 1 through the wormhole!
