Here’s an interesting one for you all.  I just logged into Where’s George and saw a window pop up with the following text:

 

“By using this website, you agree that we may set cookies and store your IP address for purposes such as customising content and enhancing user experience. We do not sell or distribute user data to anyone, ever.”

 

I went to the forums there and the webmaster says it’s legit and it’s something to do with a court ruling in the EU.  Where’s George’s main audience is in the United States, and very little, if any, traffic in Europe.  I would have thought I would have seen this on the main Geocaching website before Where’s George.

I remember seeing my first Where’s George bill back when W was president. I thought it was some sort of political protest thing – like he was on vacation too much, or something like that.

I remember seeing my first Where’s George bill back in 2001. I thought it was a virus, so I went to infect my dad’s computer.  That backfired in grand fashion, the only thing that became infected was me.  I’ve been doing that ever since, and that’s also how I got into Geocaching.
