I was down to my last couple of WI virtuals away from completing  kungfuhippie’s GC2T5CD Wisconsin’s Virtual Challenge last fall, when a dozen or so more new virtuals started popping up like dandelions…

    Bring back webcams too!

    I don’t think that’s something I would complain about.

We had a webcam cache not too far up the road from our first home in Oregon. Then the road department decided to do roadwork to straighten the twisty, steep road to make it a straight, steep road. Once the powers that be at HQ saw the highway webcam was offline (temporarily) they disabled the webcam. Not much after that, the webcam was back in place but the cache was never allowed to be resurrected.

We were able to do the virtual challenge well before the new ones came on the scene, but it was like that for us with Minnesota.  We had two left.  Now I think we have 9 left, but not complaining.  We kind of aren’t hurrying those at this point, since they only have a couple more months to list any.  That way we don’t have the “I was just there!” experience that always seems to happen to us.

As for webcams…..I think they used to be more fun when you pretty much had to call someone at home to take your photo.  That’s still how we’ve done any we’ve done, but the business of going to a spot, turning on your phone and hitting “save” kind of takes away from the adventure.  That’s my opinion, anyway.  Too bad HQ archived that one, though.

Same here.  Not complaining, but we had only 3 or 4 virtuals remaining in Wisconsin.  We’ve found roughly half of the new ones.  It’s a good problem to have.  We’ve already covered the whole state for the Delorme challenge, and at a different date we covered them again for the Badger State 72 county challenge, then again for the WGA state park challenge.  To a minor extent I was like “What goal should we set now that will bring us all over the state?”  The KFH virtual challenge has us circulating the state once again.  Not that we need a whole lot of prompting, but still.

I’ll take FTP for Thursday, June 7th! Might be heading to MO Saturday . . . we will see what happens I guess.

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

I am still yet another cachin’ Menashan.  But at the end of the month I will live somewhere else, after 22 years.  I am blessed to have time to move over the course of a month+.  In the older days, I would be moving to the heart of ZB and Curly Girls country.  But since I haven’t seen them on the site here recently, I wonder if they even cache anymore.

Who else is attending a WWFM event today?  I’m hosting one, and will be arriving early to secure the spot.

No flash mobs for me today. Took inventory of the souvenir merchandise at the Mead Wildlife Area, did some work around the house, and went shopping with the Mrs.
