WTG!
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

07/10/2018 at 1:16 pm #2060083Can’t believe all the new caches in Marinette. Saw someone here found the Teacher’s Park one where I came up blank and missed the FTF there. Still haven’t found it. Did manage one FTF while my son and I were up there visiting my dad for a few days. Nice cluster to get a bunch of souvenirs this summer.
Teaching summer school has the advantage of keeping me out of the heat wave but also means I’m not getting anything done either here (because we work in the commons, and I can’t access any of my files for working on notes) or at home. AND I don’t have time to get caches.

I realized that awhile ago, that’s why I decided to call my event a “Spooktackular”. I’ll even be wearing my triskaidekaphobia shirt that came from my Saint Louis trip last year.

07/10/2018 at 8:22 pm #2060086After 247,000 miles, it was time for some different wheels (car). The old one needed tie rods, struts, brakes…it did a lot of driving! My AM client asked me why my car was making strange noises, so that’s a good sign that it’s time. By 1:30, I was driving off the lot with another one. I hate car shopping, but it feels good to get it over with!
On my way to my AM client, I stopped at a 4-way stop, looked at 3 empty lanes, and proceeded forward. I suddenly heard the sound of screeching tires and a semi horn from my left so I goosed it across as he just missed me! The driver then proceeded to give me the one-finger salute!! I wonder if realizes yet that he ran a stop sign.
Ah, memories…

07/11/2018 at 9:25 am #2060089After work yesterday, I stopped at the local grocery store to get what my wife needed to finish supper. Once I finished the shopping, I got into the electric geomobile and started driving home. I looked down and noticed I was unexpectedly driving in kilometers per hour. And that the temperature was in Celcius. And that it was -20C with the car telling me to be careful for ice on the road. Then the warning to get my front view camera fixed popped up. I don’t have one. Then the side detection system. Don’t have one of those. Then other things needed to be fixed that I don’t have. And my battery charge was down to 0% instead of mostly charged – but the car was clearly still running on battery power.
It’s surprising how little information is out there on the web when you search for this problem, but I did find a guy that says you unplug the negative cable on the battery (located in the trunk) and leave it unplugged for 5 minutes. Great! I don’t have the tool needed to do that. Wrong TOTT
