This is not spam. This is just how infrequently I get on a computer these days. We lost five teachers at the end of the school year, one retired and the rest moved along to somewhere else. Then another one left – at one point we had one out of four science positions staffed. One person took a SPED job and then left the next day (she found a job at the school across the street from the house she was living in). Then I found out the history teacher with the load most similar to the one I had for 20+ years left, after I had just spent a week going to an inservice to better understand how they want us to teach math here. I was told about this at the County Fair by another teacher, but after Act 10 was passed, they didn’t have to allow me to try to post into the job. I would’ve felt awful leaving my spot and forcing them to try to find a new math teacher (especially after getting the training) so I just kept my mouth shut. Then, I got an email from a fellow math teacher saying she had resigned – so I guess we’re looking for another math teacher anyway. Anyone want to help me finish AP Stats problems before school starts?
You’re not the only teacher I’ve heard complain about Act 10, one teacher I know just recently retired instead of try to move to another school in the district, but that’s another story for another time.
