I hope you’re enjoying trying to get into Dorothy.  I just realized what that sounds like. . .

I’ll have her figured out before the event next month. Are you going?

I got it penciled in on the calendar, I’ll see if I can get some of the Green Bay contingent up.

FTP for August 19th.  I should have put shampoo in my hair before my run and saved some time.  The fog dampened my hair so much it dripped!

I’m not gonna let this thread go three days in a row with just one post per day.  If I would have known about that new puzzle in Lakewood the other day, I would have used that for my International Geocaching Day souvenir.  I was able to get another one yesterday, and found the new puzzle today.  Hey Rod, that’s another cache for you to find in Oconto County.

for 08-20-18. Thinking of MGT this weekend . . .

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

When I check my Spam in my e-mail, there is never anything in it.  Today I looked, and there was a message from an organization I always get messages from, and also…the WGA newsletter!  I am not sure how to avoid this, other than clicking This is not Spam as an option, after the fact.

This is not spam. This is just how infrequently I get on a computer these days. We lost five teachers at the end of the school year, one retired and the rest moved along to somewhere else. Then another one left – at one point we had one out of four science positions staffed. One person took a SPED job and then left the next day (she found a job at the school across the street from the house she was living in). Then I found out the history teacher with the load most similar to the one I had for 20+ years left, after I had just spent a week going to an inservice to better understand how they want us to teach math here. I was told about this at the County Fair by another teacher, but after Act 10 was passed, they didn’t have to allow me to try to post into the job. I would’ve felt awful leaving my spot and forcing them to try to find a new math teacher (especially after getting the training) so I just kept my mouth shut. Then, I got an email from a fellow math teacher saying she had resigned – so I guess we’re looking for another math teacher anyway.

Anyone want to help me finish AP Stats problems before school starts?

You’re not the only teacher I’ve heard complain about Act 10, one teacher I know just recently retired instead of try to move to another school in the district, but that’s another story for another time.

We had a tough time finding a new vocal music teacher, and ended up hiring a 25-year band director to fill the spot. Right now we are fully staffed with the exception of a business ed teacher.

          FTP August 21st    Happy Tuesday

I’m happy to see some light rain yesterday, but certainly not enough Up North.   I’m really getting tired of the smokey/hazy air and the poor air quality.   Hopefully it will clear up a bit today.   Yesterday late afternoon it was really foggy too with all the humidity.

It looks like the Mountain Bay Trail caches between Shawano and Green Bay are eventually going to be archived, a bunch over by Shawano have already been archived.
