Will we hit 1000 before years end?
11/02/2018 at 9:07 am #2061147Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit Absolutely too early for Christmas music! I want Thanksgiving music.
What is the significance of rabbit, rabbit, rabbit? That’s the second time I have seen that referenced.
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

I looked it up because I didn’t know. Wikipedia said it is a superstition/tradition that saying it first thing on the first day of the month, brings good luck for the month. I’ve never thought of rabbits as being particularly lucky. Like the expression regarding a rabbit’s foot for good luck…it wasn’t lucky for the rabbit. And we know what it means if the rabbit died–that might be lucky for some and not for others, but again, not for the rabbit.
11/02/2018 at 4:34 pm #2061149Time for a little Halloween fun. I’ll start it out and then you add a couple lines to make a spooky/funny/goofy Halloween story. It was a dark and stormy night. The children were upstairs in their beds and there was a nice warming fire set in the fireplace. I was sitting there reading my book, enjoying a mug of hot chocolate when all of a sudden…
…the sound of breaking glass shattered my concentration. I felt a whoosh of wind coming from the kitchen. I scrambled to my feet and went to investigate. The picture window was shattered. Rain was splattering in. And there, illuminated by the lightning, …
was the cute and fluffy puppy smiling back up at me!!! As the lightning continued to strike I the shattered glass was colored red? The kids called down asking what the noise was. And as I replied……..
the puppy transformed into a savage werewolf. I fled for my life, hiding in the bedroom. As the werewolf began to beat at the door, I grabbed for my …
pistol with the silver bullets but it was too late…. AAAARRRRGGHHH.
The werewolf tore into the children and then into me tearing us apart and making a huge sloppy mess for someone to clean up later. But, if that happened, how can I be telling you this story now???? Spooky huh?

11/03/2018 at 4:22 pm #2061152I came to the realization that today is the 20th anniversary of when I registered to vote. I voted early this year, so I’ll be bugging my neighbors on Tuesday to make sure they get out to the polls.

11/04/2018 at 1:33 pm #2061154What a crappy, cold, rainy day. And on top of it all Fox is showing the stupid Vikings/Lions game instead of the Bears game. Go Bears!

11/05/2018 at 6:54 am #2061157FTP for Monday Sad day in Packerland! Chequamegon Bay dodged the snow with only rain so far, but it’s coming! The Robins are hungry and eating up the flowering crab apple-berries with about 6-7 birds in each of my two trees, stripping it clean! But they better fly south soon as this food source will be gone.
I’d Rather Be Lost Geocaching, Than Found At Home!
11/05/2018 at 9:22 am #2061160So this was cool…..I’ve had this particular book on my wishlist for some time now.
Well, looking at our list of caches we want to seek when we head to the North Shore, hopefully, I was re-reading logs on one we’d DNFed a few years back. There was a log from “thekayaklady.” I looked at her profile and it seemed to fit, so I contacted her. Yup, the author of this book is a geocacher! Cool.
11/05/2018 at 6:51 pm #2061161Arghh! How do I get rid of that Policy/Terms of Service notification at the top? I think I see a little x in the corner but I can’t access it 🙁
