I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

Shoot straight!
11/17/2018 at 8:50 am #2061233We saw plenty of cars and trucks pulled off the road while traveling the North Shore. We had a few deer run in front of us along the way. But we saw not one vehicle with a deer tied on. I wonder how the harvest has gone there. Be safe, everyone out today. Trekkin’ has somewhat lost interest, since he lost his hunting spot (new landowner) and all the reports of chronic wasting. He hunts with muzzleloader, anyway, so he could still go out during that season if he changes his mind. He thinks it’s been three years since he went out.

11/17/2018 at 3:26 pm #2061235I just got back from the Holiday Parade and traditional visit to Old Chicago. It was a decent parade, and I took some pictures of my favorite “floats”, if you can call them that. Those included the Green Bay East High School marching band (I know the director, and I was also in said marching band 20 years ago), the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary (I know the director and his wife) and the local Dunkin’ Donuts (a friend of mine likes the place despite her sister working for Starbuck’s).

11/18/2018 at 3:15 pm #2061240I just saw a deer hunting post that BigJim put up on Facebook, hopefully that all works out in his favor.
