12/05/2018 at 7:16 am #2061343FTP for December 5th AKA Krampus Day!
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

12/05/2018 at 8:16 am #20613452ND TP on a snowy day of maybe 1 inch. Ā Beautiful winter wonderland! Ā I’ll take the snow over the gale force winds!Ā The xc ski trail and snowmobile trails up north had to do a lot of clearing of downed trees from the winds. Ā I heard yesterday our local ski trail at Ashwabay is all cleared/ groomed up and in very good condition.

I had to look up Krampus Day.Ā My family did not do St. Nick Day, but I am surprised my parents didn’t scare us into behaving by holding Krampus over our heads.Ā We were just told “Santa is watching” and one year, I actually did get coal in my stocking.

12/05/2018 at 7:47 pm #2061358I just recently found out about Krampus and had to look it up myself before posting. Mr. Evil, of course, had me order the original movie which we are patiently awaiting delivery.
I remember growing up and looking forward to St. Nickās night. We didnāt have a lot growing up, but my parents made sure there was always something.
In lieu of a Christmas stocking, the 5 of us kids usually got an apple, orange, salted shelled peanuts, and a few pieces of candy in one of our Dadās long hunting socks with the red tops.
I now have my own hunting socks that are very similar that I use during the cold Geocaching treks. I now realize that was always my real gift š

I ordered the movie. Mr. Evil and I can’t wait to watch. Hopefully it’s worth the wait.
