12/29/2018 at 8:34 am #2061590Christmas Bird Count Up North at Washburn yesterday – 9 robins and 2 Cedar Wax Wings festing on the flowering crab tree berries. Unfortunately a flock of starlings is competing for the same food source. That’s what the birds have right now – fruit – with the frozen ice and snow on the ground.

12/29/2018 at 10:52 am #2061592Betty and I spent two nights in the Seth Peterson Cottage on Mirror Lake. Rain kept us inside most of the time, but the bird feeder outside provided interesting viewing. 3 raccoons, 2 opossums, lots of chickadees and titmice, one downy woodpecker, and up to 14 squirrels at one time.
