We had a really nice hike today at the Tower Ridge county park. I was sitting and signing a log when I looked down and found a little brown and red hitchiker on my arm. Well, it had to die, I’m afraid. I whipped out my Cedarcide and sprayed all over myself, the kids, and the dog. Soon I was picking dead ticks off of me and and didn’t find any more lives ones. It really works! I must give credit where credit is due, it was Mr. Greenthumb who first referred me to this this excellent product. Anyway, just thought I’d share, since it seems to really work. I will admit, it doesn’t seem to do anything for mosquitoes but it definitely wards off ticks.

I’ve never heard of Cedarcide-where do you get it?

We have had cedarcide on while hiking with others who did not. No ticks on us and dozens on them. How do I know. The others were our screaming tick covered grandkids.
03/13/2016 at 10:20 am #2047854If you look on the ingredients list it seems to only be cedar oil. So I don’t know if any of you use essential oils but I wonder if that would be all you’d need. Still, this product does seem to work.

03/13/2016 at 1:45 pm #2047861It also makes a great manly aftershave.

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

03/13/2016 at 5:58 pm #2047867This will be our third year on the first 32 ounce bottle so the price is actually less than buying spray products. It’s also easy to carry a small spray bottle of it with you and apply or re-apply.
03/13/2016 at 6:59 pm #2047869Thank you Mr. GT! I just ordered mine.
03/13/2016 at 9:01 pm #2047872I bought the 6 pack of the small bottles. I keep one in my caching bag, one in the car, one in my husband’s laptop bag and I still have a few more to keep as a backup. Definitely an easy way to go.

03/14/2016 at 12:42 am #2047878I checked out their website and there are apparently two main products. Which do you use? CedarCide Tickshield or CedarCide Original Natural Personal Insect Repellent. They say Tickshield is an industrial strength formula, and the reviews mainly talk about applying it on dogs, and even floors and furniture. The original they mainly talk about applying to humans, but both formulas seem applicable.

03/14/2016 at 9:42 am #2047884Will have to look into this. Seems effective, granted it seems I never seem to always attract the ticks like others do. A coworker this morning also mentioned finding ticks on himself 🙁 didn’t think they would be out yet but it seems they are!
