This was one of the hardest Geocaches ever! For days, I read about this. I planned for it. I dreamed about it.
The final day arrived. This would be the day!now, this is where the WGA community comes in. Will someone else please add to the adventure?

Along the way I went over the story in my mind, again and again ….
Do-do-lu do-do-lu do-do-lu
(flashback sound effect, haven’t you ever watched Saturday Night Live?)Everyone remembers the famous schooner, ‘Rouse Simmons’, AKA the ‘Christmas Tree Ship’, lost, with all hands, off Two Rivers point, at around 4 pm on November 23, 1912. Her legends continue to this day.
But an little known part of the legend is her sister ship, the ‘Souse Simmons’, named after a heavy drinking uncle. It worked in tandem with the Rouse. The Rouse brought the Christmas trees; the Souse brought ‘the Christmas Cheer’. Actually tons of ‘Grasshopper Mix’, a green minty concoction that was a favorite back then. It too went down, on the same day, on the rocks, with a twist. To this day, the mix seeps out of the Souse’s hold, giving the nearby water a green shade and a taste not unlike toothpaste.
Before realizing it, I had driven all the way to the Lake Michigan shoreline…
08/24/2005 at 12:56 am #1759504way to Point Beach State Park. I heard another cache calling me from afar. I unloaded my kayak and gear. Paddling out into the water it was like I was in a trance. Never before believing I would be following a small electronic device. Then again I heard it calling ……
08/24/2005 at 4:59 am #1759505I will be going after “The Gauntlet” this weekend. A good friend of mine and I are spending 4 days in the Dells just for this. Ok we are there for a family reunion but this will be more fun. This one will be ours by the end of the weekend.
08/24/2005 at 5:01 am #1759506How does one write an article?
08/24/2005 at 12:38 pm #1759507Caling me from my thoughts of another geocache once thought to be impossible. As I headed to Point beach I was thinking…

08/24/2005 at 12:42 pm #1759508It had been a long, expensive ride to Point Beach. I had stopped by a roadside quick loan stop in order to arrange for a full tank of gas. Once on the road, with a full cup of strong ‘truckers’ coffee suddenly a deer appeared off to the side. Then my mind flashed back to a previous thought…

Early the next morning, I thought back to the original quest. The under water quest beckened me again and and again….
08/24/2005 at 4:36 pm #1759509Just a reminder to the powers-that-be at WGA … I submitted a “Monthly Article” in February, that was never published.
If you didn’t like the article … that’s ok, I understand.
But if you did like it and forgot I sent it … well then this is a reminder.08/24/2005 at 4:49 pm #1759510quote:
