We have resisted logging the two state park caches we trail boss up until now. When we had our caching weekend in Willow River State Park last week, we realized that the only way we can earn that cute little biome badge for the Mississippi/Chippewa region is to log them. Those of you trailbossing one of these, have you logged yours yet?

Isn’t it funny how little chunks of pixels on a screen can drive someone? :eye roll:

Yes, but we waited to log ours until we went to do maintenance on it. It was about a year after we placed it. We didn’t use it to fill a hole in the calendar or anything like that; we just hiked out there, checked things over, signed the log book, then hiked back. No biggy.

I have logged mine, spike007 has, labzone just logged his from Door County and many others have logged theirs. No one should be able to complain as the Trail Bosses don’t “own” the caches. I sure do think you should be able to log the cache you watch over.

I logged the FTF on the one I placed in Hartman Creek (jk)

No, not really but I did go back on a maintenance run and logged it. Like WA said, I don’t “own” it, I just watch over it.

on a related topic, when the maker madness events were held last year, to get the souvenir you had to log the Attended log to the page. As host, I had to log my own event. I though that was a bit odd.

You attended that event, Labrat… I saw you there. 😉

Ultimately, the decision on anything is yours and however you play the game. It’s electronic art. They are meaningless stats. It’s not life or death. Just do no harm.

And, Birdin’… as we sit here with NO biomes completed… I say it is time for you to log “your” WGA caches and get that badge! The winter has stymied our attempts to complete even one biome. 🙁

I logged all 3 of mine and now I’m not even a trailboss at all. 🙁

We were planning on logging our SP cache last, after finding the other 46.  But the lure of a biome badge has persuaded us otherwise.  We haven’t logged it yet but likely will before summer.

We were going to do the same,  hack.  That biome badge is just too fun.  We have eight more parks to visit and find the cache yet.  We’re hoping to visit several of them with another getaway trip yet this spring (while rates at bed and breakfasts are still low!)  Maybe after we make that trip.  We’ll see.

You have so much self control!  I just couldn’t stand looking at those PQ maps and seeing those caches without smilies on them.

Ha ha Becca. we developed self control when some caches started showing up that we just won’t ever get, anyway.  Amazing how a thing like that can shift a person’s focus!

With the WGA SPS caches?  They’ve all been really good in my experience.

No, just local caches that are not within our scope to claim.  That cures you of the map clearing thing.  We’ve enjoyed the Sp caches…that’s the kind of caching we enjoy anyway.

Do the biome badges show some place?

The views expressed here are that of myself only and do not necessarily represent that of the WGA board.

To see what the biome badges look like, go to the menu bar at the top of any page, go to WGA modules, in that go to WGA State Parks Series, and from that drop-down, go to State Parks biomes.  If you have completed any of the biomes, the badge should show up on your WGA profile.
