I think most of us are intrigued by Travel Bugs. I myself ordered a set of 8 tags just to watch what would happen when I let them go. The missions varied by I think most were just to move from cache to cache. Ones mission was to go to the Sierra Nevadas in California by July – its there already there via Florida first.
One is in San Jose, California, one in Atlanta Georgia, one in Arkansas, one in Minnesota, one in Illinois and one that was suppose to stay in wisconsin is still here.
Overall they have been moving right along. A couple have taken rests on someones dresser or pack for a while but they move them on in due time. It is an interesting concept of why someone would pay $5 for something they probably will never see again. I guess it is like when we were kids and sent off helium balloons with cards attached hoping to hear back from someone who found them.
Geocachers are the dreamers, the ones who always thought their balloons would find their way to China.
So next time you find a travel bug send it on its way knowing that we all share the same quest and mission, the dream that a group of people (geocachers) are all of the same spirit of the game and the hunt.(hey someone had to post a message while you are all camping

We are going to save this message for future use; as for cachers that need encouragement when a bug moves too slowly or dissapears.

I found out that I had a bug in one of my ready to hide caches thats been riding in my car for a few months. Got a message from the owner wondering if I still had it. I’d forgotten all about it. Shame on me!Really, thanks for reminding us why these travel bugs need to keep in circulation!

The bugs live again to torment another picnic!
05/19/2003 at 3:43 am #1745355We have 2 in circulation. One, had some technical difficulties that the handlers took care of (tag fell off). If they read this, please accept my gratitude. The other was recently spotted in Maui. Lucky Bug…

Rocky Mountain Traveler has logged a cache on your watch list (Mrs. Fields). You can visit the cache at the following link:

Wow, this was a little bit of work with the amount of snow left on the ground. We camped about 300 yards away from the cache, because the snow was too deep about a 1/4 mile past the cache to even walk in. Hit this one with my brother, his girlfriend, my wife, and my dog. Coclimber1115 (my brother) rescued OZZY the TB and will log it. Great cache and great area to put one. We dug in the snow at the wrong location for about 1/2 an hour. I’ll post a picture but beware it is a spoiler. TNLNquote:
