Our Travel Bug hotel that has been in our yard for almost 10 years was stolen this weekend while we were in Door County.
Get the signal has been archived. Maybe in the future we will put out a new TB hotel on our property, but will have to work on a new hide.
03/23/2016 at 5:27 pm #2048138Ooo, that’s trespassing and theft! The barking dogs had me thinking twice about SL when I was there last year. Better see if anything else is missing!
03/23/2016 at 8:36 pm #2048151Bummer news. If you do create a new travel bug hotel cache I vote for a gadget cache…. Put those carpenter skills to work 😉
03/23/2016 at 8:48 pm #2048152Sorry to hear that. It is bad enough when they steal your cache in the woods but stealing right from your yard is horrible.
03/23/2016 at 8:56 pm #2048155Well that just sucks.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
03/24/2016 at 12:08 am #2048160Horrible news! We just placed one at the end of the driveway today, hope it lasts 10 years!

03/24/2016 at 9:01 am #2048164Oh how depressing! I’m so sorry, that just isn’t right.

03/24/2016 at 11:04 am #2048179After mine got stolen, I discontinued the cache as a travel bug hotel and then chained the new ammo box in place…so far, so good. But there’s a lot of weird people out there! I couple of summers ago, someone stole our solar lights from right in front of our house.

Just kidding – so bummed that Signal has been retired – we always make a point to stop there when going north to swap TBs. Boo!

03/24/2016 at 1:22 pm #2048193I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

03/25/2016 at 9:22 am #2048212It’s too bad hearing about your TB hotel being stolen, and right when you were going for 10K.

03/25/2016 at 11:31 am #2048218I’m so sorry to hear this. Sadly, having visited it myself, I can only think it was taken by a cacher for the bugs in it. That really sucks.
03/27/2016 at 5:11 pm #2048257Well lucky there were no TB’s in the cache at the time it was stolen, but we have put it back out again, moved it a bit from our house, and added some security (lock on cache and locked to a tree) but back in play… and we added a few TB’s to it as a temptation for the cachers driving thru
03/27/2016 at 5:25 pm #2048259Bummer. Unfortunately we have noticed a trend in northern Oconto County of people causing problems with caches. Vandalism and outright theft is all too common. Sorry for your loss, we know how maddening this is. Jim & Chris
04/02/2016 at 12:19 pm #2048417It’s one thing when the TB’s get stolen or disappear, another when your cache gets stolen… But from your front yard!! Guard dogs weren’t on their game I guess haha, I remember I was second guessing going after the cache the first time when they were all barking haha
