Tri-fold handout

At one time, there was a decent tri-fold handout about geocaching that was available. Does anyone have this file still since it seems to not be available through the WGA site.

Paul, there is a “”Let’s Go Geocaching” brochure available on the geocacher-u site:

There are some things I don’t like about it (one is that is doesn’t always seem to fold up right after printing :x), but in general it is pretty good introduction.

There is a space where you can “customize” it with your own message before printing. When I print them for WGA events I always add something like:

Wisconsin Geocaching Association

– Hosts Statewide and Regional Events
– Provides WI Geocaching Information
– Online Discussion Forums
– Free Membership

We put the Geocacher U tri-fold brochure in some of our larger caches and give it out at presentations. To get it to fold better, we print it at 95%. Don’t know if that works for everyone.

The problem with this one is that when you tri-fold it, it doesn’t turn out right. The 3 panels don’t appear to be arranged in the right order – at least not that I can figure out when folding.

This one the graphic design is much nicer and I agree the layout seems wrong. I could not get it to fold in a manner that made since as well. Good thing I have the software to take it apart and rearrange the panels.

My method of introducing people to geocaching?

“Hey theres a cache a few miles from here. Let’s grab my GPS and go find it!”

So far everyone I have taken caching loves it.

I’ve submitted an email to Groundspeak asking them to either fix it or give us a waiver. Cross your fingers that they’ll help us out to further the sport.

As I understand, the brochure on gc.com is meant to be printed with “professional, business-type” printers, and not our standard home printers. I guess the set up is different or something? The geocacher-u one is more printer friendly for the masses I guess.

I just had some copy’s made at a professional printer. The updated version is awesome. They look great and fold right. It will work out great as a hand out. Thanks to “CodeJunkie” for going the extra mile.

I was just curious, so I decided to try and print a copy myself. Worked like a charm and folded just as it should. Then again, hubby bought a heavy duty printer for home use. The only problem – it’s not a color printer so the brochure looks blech.
