Okay we have learned quite a bit of info while caching but this weekend I saw a perplexing sign while out caching and just had to figure it out, “Abbortsford the first City in Wisconsin” after some research I now know how it obtained that name. Did everyone else know that already??
Any other interesting trivia to share?

09/18/2007 at 11:21 pm #1878975Yes I did know why.
It’s because…
alphabetically it is listed as the first state in Wisconsin.Which city is known as “Madtown?”
I know that this is a tough one. 😆 😆
Which town is known as “Brew City?” 😕

Wow! Learned something I never knew! Abbotsford is the first state in Wisconsin! What I don’t know is when did we start calling them towns and cities?
😛 😉 😈

The surprising thing is… that the BANDITS learned something. 😆 😆 Now that is harsh!09/19/2007 at 1:46 pm #1878980I learned about a very famous family that had their start in Brookfield, WI. I was born and raised in Brookfield and NEVER knew it. I have seen every one of the TV shows about their lives (at least I think I have). Do you know who THEY are? 😀
09/19/2007 at 2:15 pm #1878981Does anyone know where Knowhere is?
09/19/2007 at 2:31 pm #1878982And then you got Ixonia, WI …
The towns people could not agree on what to name the place … so they threw a bunch of letters in a hat and agreed to pull out 6 letters and make a name from those 6 letters. Strange but true!
09/19/2007 at 6:08 pm #1878983The First Baby of Brookfield is the cache in Question for lonesomedoves’ query. Laura Ingals Wilder was the lass’ name. I hit this awesome virtual this last January when I was in Waukesha for Janboree.
Not bad for a Minnesota guy eh?
09/19/2007 at 6:14 pm #1878984Here’s my trivia question:
There’s a little town just southwest of me called Harmony Minnesota. How did this town get it’s name?09/19/2007 at 7:08 pm #1878985Correct! There are also several more related to the Ingalls family in WI that Lost by 7 has if you are interested. GC13PZQ and where Carolines mother is buried GC13Q1E
What a fun thread. 😀 Now the answers to the other trivia questions anyone??? I can’t find them 😥
09/19/2007 at 7:31 pm #1878986Aye. shiver me timbers. I did learn a might somethin’ today. Tis international talk like a pirate day.
At least so I’ve been told.
09/19/2007 at 7:36 pm #1878987Oops!!! I didn’t learn that while caching. I was at work.
I guess I have to agree with “First Baby in Brookfield”. I knew the story of the Ingalls but always thought that they were well northwest of here. More towards Minnesota.
