I know there was a fight over this. Did Boulder Junction win? I thought Hayward got it but we may have settled for Home of World Record Muskies. I dunno I think this is still up for debate after doing a google search. I think Boulder Junction received the registered trademark.

And again. not sure if it still is, but Milwaukee was also the Bowling capitol of the world.

Here are two of my favorite historical (therefore potential trivia question answer) sites in Iowa:
      American Gothic (mine) – ( http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=cfc4142c-9bf9-4af5-a58f-eedc92331b03 )
      Buddy Holly crash site – ( http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=654c666a-5840-4078-94f8-6f482432bbfb )

Don’t know the answers to the others but I believe it is because the miners that settled SW Wisc. lived in the caves that they dug.

Correct! There are also several more related to the Ingalls family in WI that Lost by 7 has if you are interested.

I learned that if I skip reading threads, I’ll never get that ringing out of my ears….

To give credit where it is due “First Baby” was set out by Lil’ Otter. She graciously let me adopt it as a companion to two of my caches.

GC13PZQ -In Concord Caroline worked as a teacher and met Charles Ingalls.
GC13Q1E -In Rome Caroline’s mother is buried (as mentioned earlier in the thread).

      -thanks for the props lonesumdove.

I knew the story of the Ingalls but always thought that they were well northwest of here. More towards Minnesota.

Actually the family was very nomadic and moved MANY times including down to Florida at one point (1891).

I don’t see that anyone has yet mentioned this:

Eau Claire is the horseradish capitol of the world.

I grew up there and always felt bad that I can’t stand the stuff.
