Same with us. Even though we try to be interested in each others pursuits, there is not always a lot of common ground. In moderation, we enjoy caching together. I am probably more into it than Gram, but she is better at finding! But it has been good that we’ve found something we both can enjoy doing with one another.

We have logged finds on the same day far apart from one another, like in different states, but that has been rare. We do not see that as an issue as it happens only occasionally, it is not our standard practice. Most of our finds have been together, or me by myself.

My mother has been contacted by someone in Green Bay when she cached on her way to the airport in Green Bay and did some caching in Minneapolis that same day. He was trying to be the cache police with her thinking that she didn’t actually cache in those locations.

My hubby and I share an account. THere have been rare occassions where he has been somewhere else on business and went caching and I have been caching at home. He makes a comment in his log that he found it while on a business trip. No one has ever said anything. Simply put: if you or another account member find a cache and sign the log…it’s good. And anything beyond that, shouldn’t be anyone else’s business or concern.

The flip side is separate accounts which we’re doing for our kids assuming they’ll continue on their own some day. The challenge with this approach is that sometimes we go in various sized groups and it doubles or triples the logging required. I say use the account as you are and leverage the 80% rule.

I understand that this practice is ok for any team whose handle does not start with an “E”.
