We did it…we finally got this pulled together.

There are some places around the state that are just crying for a cache. The big badger crawling out of the ground near Birnamwood comes to mind. If you know of any like this we’ve missed, please let us know so they can be added to the bookmark. (Of course, then the number that makes up half will go up, but then seekers will have more fun, too!) The one requirement is that the cache was placed to highlight the attraction. A guardrail that happens to be in the vicinity with no mention of the nearby coolness doesn’t cut it.
As always, have fun and enjoy the ride.
01/08/2011 at 6:30 pm #1941655I love this! My wife and I seek these out and now there is a source to find them! Looking at your list we have cached 5 out of 6. The 6th was pre- caching and now I have a reason to go back.
Looking at your list, I was utterly shocked (just kidding) that you missed:

Can’t give any more information without giving it away…. Please check it out.

01/08/2011 at 7:08 pm #1941657Thanks Tom, We haven’t done that one yet and I wondered about it. Tried looking around some other resources to see if my suspicions were correct. Thanks!
01/09/2011 at 12:01 am #1941658Excellent, thanks for another challenge to work on while cruising around the state! The kiddos should have a blast while we chase these down. 😆
01/09/2011 at 12:47 am #1941659Looks great Gwyn. Looks like I have about 21 of em already, so I will be down sometime next week.

I saw this one, it isn’t far from where we have property up north. It has been bookmarked and I can’t wait to find it!

Another from my pre-caching days! I’m going back!
The overload of ads in the various flyers, advertisers, etc. in the past got me there many years ago, and is was the best side trip I took that summer. My wife just couldn’t understand when I tried to explain it to her when I returned home. You have to see whats on the grounds of this business to believe it.
01/09/2011 at 7:12 am #1941665I love weird things and I’ve already found a handful of the caches on the list, so I’d love to complete the challenge! Great idea!
Covert Cache While I’ve not found the cache itself (I’m not sure if I was a geocacher at the time or not), I’ve been in the establishment it resides in and it’s an absolute must-see place. It’s even more fun if you don’t know the password to enter!

I remember a couple years ago there was talk of creating such a challenge based on a book called Weird Wisconsin, and Babe The Blue Ox in Lakewood is featured in that book. I placed Cache Cow in anticipation of that challenge, though it didn’t materialize at that time. It’s still out there. 😀
